Washable Workwear Wednesday: Phoebe Jersey Dress

This dress is a unicorn in that it has sleeves and pockets. It comes in a bunch of very twee prints, but the patterns are all small enough that it’s not overwhelmingly cutesy for work. It’s very highly rated at Boden and looks like a fun, easy dress that’s got some personality. Because it’s jersey and has pockets, I would recommend it only for a casual day at a conservative office, and you may want to pay attention to where it hits you and possibly have it hemmed to a better length — some of the photos look a little unflattering because to me it looks like the dresses are hemmed in the wrong place. The dress is $81-$90 at Boden and comes in sizes 2-18. Phoebe Jersey Dress

Pumping Tuesday: Skipper Collar 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

unicorn post-partum work shirtHappy Tuesday! I was intrigued to see a reader give a shoutout to this VERY affordable blouse as “my unicorn post-partum work shirt” in a recent comment — as she noted:

It has everything – flowy in the torso, lose enough that you can lift it to pump, dark colors, wears like iron, works with pants/skirts/suits. It looks fine straight from the dryer, and if you have a steamer you can make it look even better. And it’s on sale!

Indeed it is — there are three colors left in sizes XXS-XXL for $14.90 (originally $29.90). NICE.  Rayon Skipper Collar 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

Readers, did you have a “unicorn post-partum work shirt”? What were you looking for in one — and did you find it?

Psst: Looking for more info about nursing clothes for working moms, or tips for pumping at the office? We’ve got them both…

Budget Thursday: Linen-Blend Blazer

I like the fun palm print on this Old Navy blazer — and if you need to look professional and want to wear a blazer in the summer when it’s deathly hot (and/or you run hot), this is a nice option. The blue palm print will hide the wrinkles better than solid colors, but this also comes in black and white. It’s $36 and is available in sizes XS-XXL. Linen-Blend Blazer for Women

Here are a few linen-blend blazers in plus sizes from Old Navy.

I wanted to include their jersey knit blazer and ponte blazer in my Corporette roundup of blazers under $50, but they were sold out at the time — so I’m glad to see them back.

Washable Workwear Wednesday: Cordelia Ottoman Dress

Everyone loves Boden’s ottoman fabric — it’s a medium-weight, stretchy, sort of fitted material, and this Cordelia dress is fully lined but still machine washable. We’ve featured a number of other dresses in the ottoman line, but not this one. I like the little button details and the simple neckline. It comes in regular and long sizes 2-18 in black and red, and it’s $120 at Boden. Use the coupon code C64T for 25% off. Cordelia Ottoman Dress

If you’re looking for something more affordable, we just highlighted a Lark & Ro dress (at Corporette) at Amazon that’s very similar for $64.

Washable Workwear Wednesday: Easy Care Ruched-Yoke Top

Banana Republic easycare topI think I remember knowing, at some point, that Banana Republic had a non-iron dress shirt or something like that — but the fact that they have an entire line of “Easy Care” items is news to me. (For men and women!) This shirt, for example, is 100% polyester, so it’s machine washable — I love the happy yellow color, but it also comes in pink. The top is $78, but you can take 30% off with a purchase of $70 or more (or 40% off with a purchase of $200+.) As always, you can purchase from Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gap and Athleta all in one transaction. Easy Care Ruched-Yoke Top

Washable Workwear Wednesday: V-Neck Blouse

We’re featuring the white dotted version of this simple, V-neck blouse from H&M, but it also comes in red and black — and if you zoom in on black you can see some nice seaming details on the shoulder. This great, classic blouse is machine washable, and it’s part of H&M Conscious (although I’m not sure what aspect of it makes it more sustainable). FYI, as I’ve noted before, if your kids need organic cotton undies or anything like that, the H&M Conscious line is affordable and generally great. This top is $25 at H&M in sizes 2-16. V-Neck Blouse

Here’s a plus-size option (unfortunately not labeled machine washable — but it is “dry clean” and not “dry clean only“).
