Family Friday: Secret Socks

These socks were a recommendation to me from my sister, and I’ve since bought several pairs and never looked back. I had a little bit of sticker shock at first, but they’re totally worth it! My footwear of choice on the weekends are sneakers, and I’ve always been hunting for low-cut socks to wear with them. These are hidden socks that actually stay put on your foot — they have these little rubber stripes on the inside of the heel that keep them from slipping off into your shoe. If I could find the person who invented that, I’d give them a big hug. I have washed all of my pairs several times and they are holding up well, but I do recommend that you put them in a laundry bag because they’re tiny and can get easily rolled up within your other laundry. A 3-pack is $38 at Lululemon. Secret Sock, 3-Pack

Budget Thursday: Arie Threader Drops

I like browsing BaubleBar for jewelry that I know is very trendy. The prices are low/reasonable and their pieces are very of the moment. Some of their earrings are definitely more beach appropriate than work appropriate, but I think these threader earrings strike the right balance of fun and professional. I think the threader style is very cool and unique, and I like that it’s one open piece. As a bonus, these won’t bother your ears when talking on the phone! They also have a 18K-gold plated version with cubic zirconias for $58 in their “Everyday Fine Collection,” but I think I prefer these minimal hoops, which are $28. Arie Threader Drops

Accessory Tuesday: Italian Leather Large Bucket Bag

I really love this bag from Banana Republic. The tone of the brown leather looks very upscale and I really love the decorative accents. In my opinion, one of the signs a bag is well designed is the restraint in the accents. I think when bags have too many zippers, too much metal, or lots of pockets, it tends to make them look cheap. Here, this bag has nice gold-toned hardware, and I love the knots in the leather. Personally, I also really like when bags have one strap — I have narrow shoulders and the second outside strap is always slipping off and looking sloppy. I also like that this bag has a 13” height, which means I can put a legal sized folder inside and the top peeks out a little bit. It’s $188 — add a bit more you can get 40% off $200+ with code BRSHOP. Italian Leather Large Bucket Bag

Makeup & Beauty Monday: Invincible Setting Powder

I have very sensitive skin that burns really easily. Even in my teen years when tanning was all the rage, I still could not tolerate the pain of sunburned skin and was the only one sitting under an umbrella all day. I recently picked up this product, which seems to be marketed to use over makeup every day, but I’m also planning on throwing it in my beach bag for quick touch-ups. For some reason, I have a mental block about putting on a separate sunscreen under my makeup every day, so I can see this being a great addition to my routine. Some of the reviews criticize the packaging concept, but whatever gets me to use sunscreen every day, I’m on board with! It’s $30 at Sephora. Supergoop! Invincible Setting Powder

Budget Thursday: Satya Zodiac Necklace

When I heard that T.J.Maxx had an online shopping presence, I was skeptical. Most of the fun of shopping there is the thrill of the hunt, which isn’t as fun when just using the scroll bar. However, my husband ordered a few things from there so I took a look. OK, so I was right that it wasn’t as fun, but they do have some decent finds. I really love this jewelry brand and would gladly pay full price for it, but tjmaxx.com carries a few of their pieces, including their Zodiac series. (Several of the zodiac signs are available, but if you don’t see yours, try Nashelle’s zodiac necklaces at Nordstrom — they’re $98 each.) The original price for this necklace is $98, and T.J.Maxx is selling it for $39.99 with free returns at your local store. Satya Zodiac Necklace

Accessory Tuesday: Hair Tie Bracelet

My left wrist feels naked without my ugly black hair elastic around it. My mom, who has always had short hair, used to say, “You always have that ‘schmatta’ (Yiddish for a tattered rag) around your wrist.” I’ve tried keeping hair elastics in my bag, in my pocket, etc., but nowhere is more convenient than my wrist. These bracelets make it so your hair elastic becomes a bracelet accessory. I think this is a pretty clever idea and something I wish I invented myself. It’s nice that it comes in three sizes and three different metal types, and I also see that it is offered in a one size fits all in aluminum that is less expensive. The pictured bracelet is $45 at Amazon (Prime eligible). Hair Tie Bracelet
