Accessory Tuesday: 14K Yellow Gold Beaded Ear Climbers

Even though I loathe the name of this trend, I do really like the look of these “ear climber” earrings by Moon & Meadow. They have the interest level of a drop earring with the ease of a stud. Usually they’re ostentatious, or at least somewhat youthful-looking, but I think this version lets you experiment with the trend while still being conservative enough for an office setting. Today I wore a long necklace, and my son grabbed it when he was in my arms, and then when I went to put him down he didn’t let go. It made me feel like I was wearing a 30-pound necklace. I don’t want to replicate that experience on my earlobes, so I am sticking to earrings that don’t dangle! These were $275 full price at Bloomingdale’s but have been reduced twice and are now $173.25 (until 9/3). Beaded Ear Climbers in 14K Yellow Gold

Makeup & Beauty Monday: Living Luminizer

My husband and I knew we wanted to have one last big trip before having kids, and so we planned a trip to Japan. While we were there, I was on a mission to try lots of different Japanese beauty products. One item I picked up that I’m still using on a daily basis (but am running out of!), is a crème eyeshadow/highlighter that I wear as a base to my eyeshadow. I use a dab of it on my finger to blend and blur any harsh makeup lines, and when dressing up, dab it on my cheekbones and under the arch of my eyebrow. This product seems like a pretty convincing dupe. I am by no means an expert at contouring, so this is a way to get that look in a foolproof way. It’s $38 at Sephora, where it has a lot of great reviews as well as the site’s Clean sealRMS Beauty Living Luminizer

Budget Thursday: Wrap Skirt

When I saw this skirt online (it’s from Target’s A New Day line), I loved the shape of it. Then I saw that the material is 95% modal with 5% spandex. Since my husband has switched all of his undershirts from cotton to micromodal, he has won me over to the modal fan club. Modal is very soft, stretchy, and almost bouncy. I think the style of the skirt in combination with the fabric makes it seem very easy and comfortable to wear. (It’s machine washable, too.) It’s getting great online reviews so far, and the woman wearing the skirt looks like she’s absolutely killing it! The skirt comes in black and orange and is available in straight sizes XXS–XXL for $13.98 and in plus sizes for $17.48 (both on sale). Wrap Skirt

Accessory Tuesday: Cobble Hill Wallet

I am in the market for a new wallet, and this one at Shopbop is so tempting! I love the bright color (which is so necessary when looking for it in the deep, dark recesses of my bag), the asymmetric front flap, and the textured leather. My current wallet is the zip-around type, and I’ve been noticing that the fabric part of the zipper is getting grimy. I’d like to try this snap flap instead, though I am worried about the snap getting caught on something in my bag and opening up. I like that this has a removable wristlet, because I am often just grabbing my wallet and phone and going out of my office to grab lunch or a snack. The price, which is $128, seems reasonable for something I use every day and don’t replace often. Botkier Cobble Hill Wallet

Makeup & Beauty Monday: The Mattes Edition Eyeshadow & Gel Liner Palette

I used to think that makeup sets were kind of scammy. You liked one color and the rest were add-ons that you’d never wear. However, during the holidays one year, my mother-in-law bought me a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow set that I still use every day. Unlike with other makeup brands, I find all of Bobbi Brown’s eyeshadow colors to be very wearable and useful day to day. In this set, which is $75 at Nordstrom, I am sure you’ll gravitate to some colors more than others, but none are so out-of-the-box bizarre as to not be usable at some point. I also like that this is the first set I’ve seen that includes gel eyeliners. The brush that was included in my set was very high quality and is still going strong, so I would hope that this included brush would be no different. The Mattes Edition Eyeshadow & Gel Liner Palette

Budget Thursday: Cotton Blend Cami

I knew the day would come when I would feel like I aged out of shopping at Forever 21. I think since I basically stopped shopping for two years straight (the nine months I was pregnant plus the year my body wasn’t the same, I was in a complete brain fog and I completely lost interest in following fashion), it’s become increasingly hard to jump back into trends. Especially now that apparently the ’90s are back, and I cannot bring myself to re-buy what was trendy when I was in elementary school. All that is to say, Forever 21 has completely passed me by. However, there is one thing that keeps me going back in — their basic camisole tank tops. They’re stupid cheap, I wear them under basically everything, and they last a surprisingly long time. I still have the ones I bought during my summer internship between 1 and 2L years. The tops are $2.90 each in sizes XS–XL and come in tons of colors. The plus-size counterpart is $3.90 and comes in 0X–4X in eight colors. Cotton Blend Cami
