Sure, we all know what wardrobe essentials for work professional women are supposed to have in their closets, but if you’re buying one for the first time or replacing one you’ve worn into the ground, it can be a pain to find exactly the right incarnation in stores. (It’s even harder if you’re seeking maternity workwear essentials!) In “The Hunt,” we search the stores for a basic item that every woman should have.
Which are your favorite camisoles for maternity, nursing, and beyond, readers? We haven’t been on a Hunt for them in a while (maybe never?) so I thought we’d round up some of our favorites since we just did a hunt for general camisoles for work at Corporette…
Which camisoles do you have in your rotation, readers? What brands and types are your favorites?

A Closer Look at Some of the Best Nursing Camisoles for Work Outfits…
This is one of the most affordable nursing camisoles on our list — and it’s one of the only ones to come in plus sizes (bravo, Motherhood Maternity!). It has 4,589 ratings on Amazon, with an average of 4.5 stars — wow. It comes in seven different colors, sizes XS–3X, for $16–$25.

I tried a lot of nursing camisoles when I was nursing — and this weird little tank from Undercover Mama ended up being one of my favorites. I liked the tightness (I had the 360 shaping one), and I liked the odd straplessness, where it just attaches to your bra — it made every other camisole feel like I was swimming in straps. It raised the neckline of everything so that it felt appropriate, even with my huge nursing boobs, and didn’t ride up. Win win.
It’s $14–$25 at Amazon, available in nine colorways, but the brand has multi-packs and more also at their Amazon store.
(They also have a “top cover crop shirt” which is an interesting concept — they show a woman putting the crop shirt beneath a regular V-necked T-shirt, so if she pulls down the regular T-shirt and pushes up the crop top she can nurse. You could do the same with the big popularity of demi camisoles (or crop camisoles) from brands like Second Base, Halftees, Madewell, Uwila, Boao, or Old Navy (also check out chemisettes!).
Hat tip to a Corporette reader who noted that she loved Pact Organic’s camisoles — I was impressed to see that they have maternity options also. These camisoles are made with organic cotton in a Fair Trade factory — which can be great if you or your little one seems sensitive to non-organic options.
The pictured camisole is $28–$35, comes in six colors, sizes S–XL. Another good spot to check for maternity wear that’s likely to be organic is H&M’s Conscious line — they have several seamless nursing tanks that fit the bill right now. You can also run a search at Nordstrom to see all of their nursing tanks and camisoles that meet OEKO-TEX certification.

Bravado has been a winner on the nursing circuit for a looong time, and it’s because they really do it right. This soft, seamless camisole has 297 great ratings at Nordstrom, and comes in 4 colors, sizes XS–2X, for $40.
Another longstanding player for nursing gear: Belly Bandit. If you’re on the hunt for a nursing tank that compresses, definitely give their longstanding bestseller Mother Tucker Tank a try — they swear by their “proprietary Muffinology technology to help control muffin top.” OK then!
This one is $69, and comes in three colors, sizes S–L, for $69.95.
