Washable Workwear Wednesday: Belted Scuba Sheath Dress

We featured this Ellen Tracy dress over at Corporette a couple of weeks ago in the black, and since it’s machine washable we’re highlighting it here as well. (It’s machine wash cold, tumble dry low.) I like the neckline, the cap sleeves, the belt, and the length; it’s very flattering. (If the skinny belt isn’t your thing, I think it looks fine without it.) It’s only $108 at Nordstrom. Belted Scuba Sheath Dress

Here’s a plus-size option (dry clean, unfortunately, but not dry clean only).

Washable Workwear Wednesday: The Taylor Dress

MM.LaFleur has a ton of washable workwear, including this dress, which looks great. I think that twist in the front would be very flattering on the mommy pooch that some of us have. I also like the darts in the back and the hidden zipper, but the even cooler thing about the folds in front is that — huzzah! — they hide pockets. The dress is available in green and blue (in limited sizes) for $265 at MM.LaFleur. The Taylor Dress

Here’s a lower-priced option; it also comes in plus and maternity sizes.

Washable Workwear Wednesday: Sleeveless Seamed Fit-and-Flare Dress

The princess seaming on the front of this White House Black Market dress is very flattering, and the dress has a swingy but grownup appeal to it — it seems like a classic dress to wear to work, on a date, etc. It’s machine washable, too. The dress is getting rave reviews, and in fact, some sizes are already sold out. It’s $160 at White House Black Market. Sleeveless Seamed Fit-and-Flare Dress

Two plus-size options are here and here.

Washable Workwear Wednesday: Classic Cap-Sleeve Wrap Dress

This awesome, machine-washable dress comes in 11 colors in sizes XS-XL. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: A print hides a multitude of spills and stains (including those from work pumping mishaps), and a wrap dress is very helpful to have in your wardrobe if your size is fluctuating, either because you’re gaining or losing weight. For $45, this is a great option. Classic Cap-Sleeve Wrap Dress

Here’s a washable plus-size alternative.

Washable Workwear Wednesday: Phoebe Jersey Dress

This dress is a unicorn in that it has sleeves and pockets. It comes in a bunch of very twee prints, but the patterns are all small enough that it’s not overwhelmingly cutesy for work. It’s very highly rated at Boden and looks like a fun, easy dress that’s got some personality. Because it’s jersey and has pockets, I would recommend it only for a casual day at a conservative office, and you may want to pay attention to where it hits you and possibly have it hemmed to a better length — some of the photos look a little unflattering because to me it looks like the dresses are hemmed in the wrong place. The dress is $81-$90 at Boden and comes in sizes 2-18. Phoebe Jersey Dress

Pumping Tuesday: Skipper Collar 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

unicorn post-partum work shirtHappy Tuesday! I was intrigued to see a reader give a shoutout to this VERY affordable blouse as “my unicorn post-partum work shirt” in a recent comment — as she noted:

It has everything – flowy in the torso, lose enough that you can lift it to pump, dark colors, wears like iron, works with pants/skirts/suits. It looks fine straight from the dryer, and if you have a steamer you can make it look even better. And it’s on sale!

Indeed it is — there are three colors left in sizes XXS-XXL for $14.90 (originally $29.90). NICE.  Rayon Skipper Collar 3/4 Sleeve Blouse
