Cleaners says
If you have a cleaning service, do you leave the house every time they visit? I’ve been doing that so far but with WFH it is inconvenient to get out of the house for 1.5ish hours during the workday. I’m thinking of staying home but moving out of rooms they are actively cleaning.

Yes, always. It’s not a covid thing for me (they wear masks while cleaning). I’m just extremely sensitive to the chemicals they use. Back when I worked in an office I would go to the office. Now I go to my parents’ apartment and work from there. If my parents weren’t local I would likely reserve a room at the public library. A coffeeshop could also be an option if you’re less Covid cautious than me.

My husband and I both stay. He stays in the office (and they only clean it once per month). I just move around.

I stayed home when I was wfh, just closed my office door. I have a single cleaner, so it’s more like 3-4 hours and not practical to leave for that long. Now that my office is re-opened, I work in the office the days she comes.

No, I don’t like people in my house when I’m not here. They now come during the workday (used to be weekends a few years ago with a different service), so DH hangs out in the living room (and DD if she’s home from preschool) until they clean downstairs. Then DH and DD either go upstairs or come hide out in the office with me. I am in the office working the whole time and the office is off limits for cleaning (both because I’m a lawyer with client materials and because if anyone touched the explosion that is my desk, I would never find anything again).
