Budget Thursday: Smart Style Ankle-Length Pants

Uniqlo has had these ankle-length pants for a while in solid colors, but I also like these patterned versions. They seem kind of cool and stylish for work but also comfortable — they don’t have a fully elastic waist, but they don’t have a full zipper either. The pants are made from an “elegant wool-like material that’s wrinkle-resistant,” and they’re machine washable, which is great. They’re available in sizes XS–XXL, but in my experience the XL and XXL are bigger than you’d expect (not like a size 12), so check out the size chart. If you’re on the hunt for washable, affordable pants for work, I’d these a try. They’re just $39.90 at Uniqlo. Smart Style Ankle-Length Pants

Here’s a plus-size option (albeit a bit pricier).

Accessory Tuesday: Initial Pendant Necklace

If you’re looking for a good, faux-diamond sort of look, I always hear readers singing the praises of Nadri — and here’s one example of their offerings. This initial necklace comes in a lot of different finishes and, obviously, letters. Each letter comes in rose gold, gold, and silver (it’s actually rhodium plating) for only $45. The necklace is really highly rated at Nordstrom, too. I’m a big fan of initial pendants to celebrate my kids, or to celebrate our family name, but you could also celebrate your own name/your maiden name, etc. This just looks like a really wearable, happy little pendant. Initial Pendant Necklace

Accessory Tuesday: ‘Dilys’ Wedge Pump

This highly-rated shoe at Nordstrom is on sale from $129 to $96 (25% off) (ooh, and even lower at Amazon in some colors/sizes). It looks like a great shoe for running around, either at the office or with the kids, and I like that it’s got 2.25″ covered heels. It seems very sleek, but comfortable as well. ‘Dilys’ Wedge Pump

Finally Friday: Medora Nina

These really cute shoes at Zappos are the kind of thing I buy to run around town on weekends with the kids — I have some from Fly London that are similar, and I also just got some from Eileen Fisher. For $69, this is a pretty good price, and this shoe has great reviews. I wish it weren’t so dark on the bottom, but it’s a pretty good choice, all things considered. Amazon has more color options than Zappos, some on sale and some not. This is a good option if you want something a little bit sleeker than a tennis shoe but not as flippy-floppy as a ballet flat. Clarks Medora Nina

Everyone Thursday: Classic Dress Shrug

A lot of Corporette readers are really excited about this shrug as an affordable option to the MM.LaFleur jardigan. I like that it’s machine wash cold and comes in a zillion colors, and I think it’s worth noting that a dress shrug like this can look great when you’re pregnant and wearing a maxi dress. This is $60 at Talbots, in XS-XL — and the matching ponte dress pictured is cute if you like the monotone look. Classic Dress Shrug

It also comes in plus sizes in 10 colors!

Finally Friday: Baroque Linen Tee

Loft has a lot of really cute t-shirts, etc., right now (including the top we’re featuring at Corporette today), so if you haven’t looked lately, you should check it out. I think this linen tee is great — it has a fun, bright, happy pattern that’s going to hide stains well, it’s machine washable, and it’s got very good reviews. (Ooh, and they have a lot of items in this particular pattern, including a maternity top, a skirt, a dress, a blouse, and more.) The regular and petite size range is XXS-XL, and the top is on sale for $29.99 from $39.99 –plus an extra 40% off (no code needed) that brings it down to just $17.99. Baroque Linen Tee

Here’s a plus-size option.
