Why do we never comment on these posts? Considering most of our comments are off-topic anyway, it’s always seemed a bit odd to me.

I think it’s bc they are usually quickly followed by another post and no one wants to post given the short lifespan of any potential discussion (the weekly news roundup is a good example of this). But fair point.
I’ll play. How long do most kids use a high chair? Baby AIMS uses a bumbo seat that attaches to a regular chair to save space but we are moving and I’m wondering if I should get a standalone high hair or not bother at this point. She’s just over a year.

We have a Svan chair that my 4.5 year old is still using, sans tray. We don’t have a lot of dining chairs so don’t mind an extra. If you have plenty of dining chairs you could just get an inexpensive booster and strap it to the seat for a couple more years. At 4.5, my son can sit in a normal chair but he is very low – a booster would still be good. He doesn’t necessarily want to use one though. The Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster seat is about $20. We bought one for travel use and I thought it was great.

My son abandoned his high chair around 2 – he sits on a normal dining chair (that we have slipcovered), usually on his knees. At some point he just started wanting to sit there instead of his high chair, so we just went with it!
