Hello everyone here,i wish to share my life changing story here, this information will also change your life. I was sacked at my workplace,i had issues with my boss,so he relieved me of my job, which caused a great financial crisis in my life,i was bankrupt and i was behind on bills. Once day,i came across a post of a lady who praised the services of a hacker that helped her with a blank ATM card, she was really excited,so i decided to mail the hacker and give it a try,he responded to my email and explained the entire process of how it works,i was hesitant but decided to go ahead, truly i received the ATM card after 4 days, then i went to make withdrawal,i was shocked, the machine dispense cash of $2500 to me that very day, until now,am still making withdrawal and i have made a total withdrawal of $50,000. Am so happy,am back on my feet financially, settling all bills and living a happy life. The card is very safe and secure to use,no tracking or security issues. I promise Sven that i will share the good news everywhere and let those in need know about his goodness. If you are interested and want to get back on your feet financially, kindly email him at [email protected] Tell him,i referred you.
Given the current Epstein file disclosures, commentary, etc., I just want to put out there that I’m thinking of all the other women and girls for whom this brings up hurt and trauma, especially for anyone else who has dealt with CSA. It is so heavy. I don’t have adequate words.
Thank you to everyone who provided advice in response to my question last week about whether or not my son should attend his classmate’s funeral. We ended up taking him, and we have no regrets about that decision. It was a tough day for everyone, but I’m proud of all the kids who showed up. They all acted appropriately and respectfully, mature beyond their years. I appreciate all the personal stories and condolences from everyone who responded to my post here. This forum can be a really beautiful community.
Do you let your kids buy whatever they want with “their” money (allowance etc.), or do you have guidelines/times when no purchases are allowed? If the latter, how do you manage it?
I have a 7 year old son who gets an allowance, his 4 year old sister doesn’t yet (but maybe she could too). EVERY time we are in a store (to pick out a friend’s birthday present or grocery shopping), he wants to buy something. Sometimes we let him (e.g. extra treats to give out with his valentines – sure. A new Nintendo game that he saved up for and has been wanting – great), but we often say no since he just wants to pick something random just to have it.
My rationale for saying no can range from,: That’s not a good use of your money (junk toys at the dollar store); You don’t need another Lego set when you have 5 unbuilt ones at home; Your sister (who is with us) doesn’t have $20 to spend on random stuff and so it isn’t fair; or just – We don’t need more toys today, no.
My son’s response: “it’s my money, I’ve saved it up, why can’t I choose what to spend it on?!” I don’t have a great response for that, other than repeating the above reasons. How do other parents handle this?
My friend told me there was a post a week or so ago about embryo donation. I wanted to give my perspective as an embryo recipient.
My husband and I pursued embryo donation after severe male factor infertility meant we couldn’t create our own genetic embryos. We looked into sperm donation but wasn’t right for us.
The embryo donation path has been amazing. We worked with an organization called Embryo Connections that I highly recommend if you are considering donation or adoption. They help both sides help facilitate a match. Both sides can specify if there are certain qualities they are looking for the other. We ended up matching with a family with similar value systems. We did an open adoption and I text the donor family updates during holidays, birthdays, etc. We live on East Coast and they are in Mountain Region so I’ve never met them in person.
Embryo Connections also helped us find a family lawyer that had experience with donation contracts which was required before the donation. We got three embryos from this couple and it is cool that we still have the option for our children to be genetic siblings.
I can definitely understand why donating embryos isn’t for everyone and am very thankful our donor made this choice. We love our son so much. We also love the ability to be open with him about his birth story and for him to have the option for donor contact in the future.
this is our first time doing girl scout cookies and i have to say it is more work for the parents than the kids. who came up with this terrible idea?!?
Who mentioned swim shorts yesterday? what do you mean – like the kind title nine has? I would love to have something highly functional and that makes my tush look good as promised!
Hawaii ideas request! We will be on the big island in late March with our two kids, ages 3 & 6. Looking for kid-friendly adventure ideas. We have plans for Volcanoes NP and adults will be doing a night manta ray swim. I don’t love the idea of sea kayaking with the kids since neither can swim. Looking for other ideas that have been fun for your kids, like boating outings, surf lessons, anything else?
Have y’all heard of treating cavities in baby teeth with silver nitrate? I was pleasantly thrilled when the dentist offered a no-drill no-anesthetic option, so I jumped on it. But I didn’t do my usual research and would be curious to hear others’ experiences with it.
Daydreaming of summer vacation – what are your favorite vacation spots with a toddler? We’d be traveling from DC in July or August, open to driving or flying. My son will be almost 2 1/2. Hoping to plan something fun (with the full realization that it’s a trip not a vacation) after a long winter.
Is it common where you are for parents to mount smartphones onto a stroller bar and turn on videos while taking walks or going to the grocery store with the baby/young toddler? I’m seeing this more and more and I’m not sure why. I often stop to eat something from the hot bar at an outside table and see parents entering the grocery store stop (with a perfectly calm baby) to get it all set up, well before any behavioral challenges have presented themselves. It seems different from giving in during a restaurant tantrum where obviously they’re just trying to stop the crying stat. I’m genuinely curious about this but since there’s no way for it to not sound judgmental, I may as well add that I think it’s a bit wild to set up a smartphone mount for a baby who can’t reliably hold it.
For some reason, I find it very off-putting when someone opens an e-mail with my name in the first sentence (e.g., “Jane, I am requesting that you ….” instead of the normal salutation “Jane-“ with the content in the next paragraph). It reads like an assertion of dominance and/or passive aggression. Is this a real thing or just me?
I know often we talk about the negative parts of parenting, but this morning my 7 year old, who is slow to wake up, was lounging in bed when I went to say good morning before I had to leave for work. She told me she likes to lay in bed and think about her future, and was thinking about how great it would be if she had a diary and wrote super powers in it and they all came true in real life. At that moment I was just like, I feel like I am so full of love I am going to explode, lol. Some of the little moments of parenting are just so awesome!
