I’ve been seeing these shoes pop up on my social media feeds for a while, but I didn’t pull the trigger right away. I don’t have great luck with ordering shoes online due to having tough feet to fit (narrow, narrow heel, and flat arches — ugh). What finally convinced me was a rave review … Read More about Family Friday: Wool Runners
Family Friday: Booster Pads Diaper Doublers
Since I discovered this product, my baby has not slept without one of these in his diaper — and I don’t want to find out what happens when he doesn’t. I would describe these as big maxi-pad-looking things that you put inside the diaper to absorb more liquid overnight. Previously, I had to wash crib … Read More about Family Friday: Booster Pads Diaper Doublers
Family Friday: GrandPro Tennis Sneaker
These men’s sneakers were getting rave reviews in the comment section over at Corporette for looking great and being comfortable. For more casual offices, these say “I am dressed casually, but also am professional,” and for the weekends they say “I am dressed down but still care about my appearance.” Are they the most stylish … Read More about Family Friday: GrandPro Tennis Sneaker
Family Friday: Soft Booster Seat
When your kid gets too old for a high chair or a booster seat with straps (we liked this one from Graco), this booster seat from Prince Lionheart is a great option. We like it so much that we’re on our second one — we got the first when our son was 6, and now … Read More about Family Friday: Soft Booster Seat
Family Thursday: Bathtub Fingerpaint Soap
I chanced upon these sold individually at Target for something like $1-$3 each, and bought the three primary colors. Of course I realized too late that my youngest absolutely adores them: I can’t find them in any Target right now. Amazon comes through as always, though, but for a bit more — this pack of 6 … Read More about Family Thursday: Bathtub Fingerpaint Soap
Family Friday: Weelicious: 140 Fast, Fresh, and Easy Recipes
Over the years, I’ve gotten a number of family cookbooks, and this one from Weelicious is one of my favorites (and her newsletter is also wonderful). I have one that wanted me to make pasta for 12, and another that told me to cook parsnips, which just aren’t readily available where we live. This one … Read More about Family Friday: Weelicious: 140 Fast, Fresh, and Easy Recipes
Family Friday: Foogo Insulated Stainless Steel 10-Ounce Food Jar
A couple of weeks ago, my son stopped wanting sandwiches in his lunch, and he never wants to buy lunch at school — so I bought this Thermos container to send him with hot food. I picked it because it has great reviews at Amazon, and it’s worked really well. My son has brought pasta, … Read More about Family Friday: Foogo Insulated Stainless Steel 10-Ounce Food Jar
Organizing Thursday: Maze Wide White Geometric Bookcase
I’ve talked before about how I use IKEA Expedit shelves to store toys and books, and today I thought we’d feature this fun maze bookcase from Crate & Barrel — specifically from Crate & Kids, which is new (kind of). Land of Nod, which has been owned by Crate & Barrel since 2001, has now … Read More about Organizing Thursday: Maze Wide White Geometric Bookcase
Family Friday: Jo Jo Crossbody
I held out on the crossbody trend for a long time but finally have realized that, now that I’m past the diaper bag stage, I want something to carry my wallet and phone and lipstick but don’t need something big enough to fit snacks and toys and diapers, etc. The crossbody bag is my new … Read More about Family Friday: Jo Jo Crossbody
Family Friday: Candy Land The World of Sweets Game
My three-year-old son, H, is not really playing board games yet, which is similar to my older son, J, who was around three and a half when he started. I recently downloaded The Orchard by HABA for $3.99 on iTunes, and it’s a very easy game — there’s no setup, which is nice, and he can play it by himself. I think that primed us for Candy Land, which is a great first game, so this app is good if you’re looking for something even easier to get them started. I’d love to hear from you guys about your favorite board games for kiddos, especially first games. Candy Land is $12.99 at Amazon. Candy Land The World of Sweets Game

Family Friday: Bamboo Baby Washcloths
In terms of the fancier options out there for washcloths — like muslin, bamboo, and flannel — I prefer muslin for my own face, but I feel bad that I didn’t have these bamboo baby washcloths when my sons were still in diapers. When your kid has a rash and you’re trying to be as gentle … Read More about Family Friday: Bamboo Baby Washcloths
Organizing Thursday: 4-Cube Organizer
I’ve often seen bins like this at Crate & Barrel and elsewhere for $200–$300. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that was $50 for a fairly large shelf, but Target has them. (That price means you put it together yourself, of course.) It looks like a good find if you’re on the hunt for … Read More about Organizing Thursday: 4-Cube Organizer
