This Vince Camuto top looks like a great basic — you can wear it to work or on the weekend, you can pair it with skinny pants, and you can layer it under a cardigan or blazer. It looks flattering and also not too out-there in terms of the high/low style. (Note that it does seem to be slightly sheer … Read More about Finally Friday: Woven Back High/Low Knit Top
Machine-Washable Work Clothes
Looking for machine-washable work clothes? Every Wednesday we include a wear-it-to-work recommendation that is machine washable -- you can see our most recent picks below. Don't miss some of our bigger articles on this topic, though, including:
Washable Workwear Wednesday: V-Neck Dress
This dress is pretty highly rated, with 16 reviews and 4 stars. Note that, like most of Ming Wang’s designs, it’s machine wash warm and tumble dry low (and it’s wrinkle-resistant, too). If you’re looking for a basic dress that feels more luxe than, say, a t-shirt dress from Old Navy, do consider this brand. This style is $275 at … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: V-Neck Dress
Washable Wednesday’s Workwear Report: Roz & Ali Scuba Sheath Dress
Dressbarn is not usually where I look for things to feature, but I was browsing over there for our recent Corporette roundup on the best workwear for size 16 and beyond and thought that this dress looked great. It’s got a slightly interesting neckline, which can sometimes be a bad thing if you’re buying from a store like Dressbarn, but … Read More about Washable Wednesday’s Workwear Report: Roz & Ali Scuba Sheath Dress
Washable Wednesday: Knit Blazer
We’ve written about this Olivia Moon blazer a lot — it’s been around for a thousand years, and people love it. It comes in regular (XS-XL) and petite (XXS-XL) sizes, as well as plus sizes, and besides the pictured space dye and a white space dye, it’s available in several solid colors. It’s labeled hand wash … Read More about Washable Wednesday: Knit Blazer
Washable Workwear Wednesday: Dinora Notch Collar Double Knit Jacket
While I always try to feature something that’s machine washable for Wednesdays, I have to admit this one is hand wash cold — but it’s such a pretty jacket and it’s the kind of thing that’s great for a new mom. It’s an easy thing to throw on, and you’ll be comfortable but still look well put … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Dinora Notch Collar Double Knit Jacket
Washable Workwear Wednesday: Circle Cardigan
I’ve mentioned this sweater a few times, but: have I mentioned that it’s one of my FAVORITE things that I bought recently? It’s ridiculously soft and cozy, holds its shape, and — huzzah! — is machine washable. I love the bamboo knit so much I got my aunt a waterfall cardigan and my brother a … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Circle Cardigan
Washable Workwear Wednesday: Swing Dress
This is highly rated (even if it doesn’t look super-flattering online) and readers have been really singing its praises. I can see it being a great dress if you’re coming back to work from maternity leave and want a more casual look (especially if you want pockets), or if you’re dealing with weight gain, or if you’re in … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Swing Dress
Washable Wednesday: Vee Neck Dress
Happy Wednesday, ladies! Today I’m liking this washable sheath dress from Banana Republic — the notch neck, sleeves, and simple fit and flare design are lovely! It’s available in blue, red, and black in regular, tall, and petite sizes for $138 full price. Short-Sleeve A-Line Vee Neck Dress Looking for other washable workwear? Washable Workwear Wednesday: Henley Top
We just rounded up workwear with hidden shaping powers over at Corporette, and one of the brands we included was NYDJ. Readers were singing its praises and, FYI, noted that taller women can get NYDJ pants in tall sizes at Long Tall Sally. This machine-washable henley from NYDJ is available in sizes 1X-3X (here are other size and color … Read More about Washable Workwear Wednesday: Henley Top
Finally Friday: Nora Pull-On Stretch Skinny Corduroys
These pants are a reader favorite, and they’ll be warm and comfortable this season. They are pull-on, which can be good if you’re avoiding a c-section scar, etc., but they can also be a little too loose in the waist. So, unless you’re wearing a lot of tunics, if you’re bending down with your kids you may end up with your underwear showing. Except for the “artichoke” color, these are only available in lucky sizes right now (petite and regular) because they’re on sale for $48 from $74. However, there’s a really great teal that’s not marked down and still available in all sizes 0-16. JAG Nora Pull-On Stretch Skinny Corduroys
Here’s a plus-size option.
Washable Wednesday: Iced Floral Tab Sleeve Blouse
I noticed that Loft has a ton of beautiful patterns right now, including several designs with a very art deco feel. A lot of their stuff is easy to wear because it’s machine washable — and it’s affordable, too. I like the wide neckline here and I think it would work well in a variety of outfits. The top is available … Read More about Washable Wednesday: Iced Floral Tab Sleeve Blouse
Washable Wednesday: Ponte-Knit Swing Dress
This dress from Old Navy — just $22! — looks like a great basic. You could wear it with tights and booties, or you could even dress it up with a statement necklace. The swing style is a good one for postpartum bodies, and in general this just looks like a nice, flattering dress. I will say this … Read More about Washable Wednesday: Ponte-Knit Swing Dress
