Happy long weekend, ladies! What is your favorite weekend shoe for running around town with your kid(s)? I’m firmly on team Birkenstock, and I love these pretty magenta patent Gizehs, which have 1,042 reviews and a 5-star rating on Zappos. They’re $89.95. Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flor
Psst: stay tuned and we’ll do a Labor Day sale roundup for maternity, gear, and kids later today! Any sales you can’t wait to hit?

Japanese Werkend is having a sale on their website. I can’t say enough about their d&a line, especially now that I am nursing.

All my favorite maternity items were from Japanese Weekend – pencil skirt, leggings, dresses, and tops. Highly recommended.

Do you have a favorite reccomendation for a dress for nursing/pumping? I’ve never ordered from there but would like to treat myself to a post-delivery treat :-)

Just a reminder that a lot of dresses that work for nursing (exposing one side) won’t work for double pumping! I realized that after I bought 2 nursing/mat dresses from JW. I wore both a lot during the pregnancy but have only worn them a couple times since returning to work (in my head, I thought they would work for pumping!). I got a simple black wrap dress and a printed short-sleeved dress. I will try to find links. Both were great during pregnancy and would work for nursing. I found JW was good quality and fit.

Ooo! I am neither nursing nor pumping because I haven’t given birth yet, but I have a beautiful dress to recommend that I love. It is the Isabella Oliver “Emily” dress. It is both a maternity and nursing dress that would work great for a double pump. It reminds me of the blue dress that Kate Middleton wore in her engagement photos. The bodice is this criss-cross wrap thing that, when undone, exposes your entire chest while keeping your arms and stomach covered. It’s kind of expensive, and was my one maternity splurge dress, but I feel so pretty when I wear it.

I had two maternity dresses from Japanese Weekend for business casual office days. I liked them when I first tried them on, but in the end, they didn’t get as much wear as other items. The fit was never as flattering as other dresses
However, if you like the brand it’s always worth checking Amazon. They often have JW items on deep sale and even better, they are usually prime eligible

I have the Gizeh and find it to be pretty comfortable, except that sometimes I step in a way that causes the toe post to jam between my toes and causes a shooting, tingling pain. I worry that if I wore these all the time I would get some kind of nerve damage in my toes. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it?

For sales, I’m actually kind of frustrated at Land’s End – they had a lot of kids stuff marked down on Wednesday, and today it’s back to full price but with a “30% everything for Labor Day” sale, which makes it almost the same, but a little bit pricier. I’m not a fan of stores that put things on sale and then take the sale price back off – it annoys me.
Not enough to stop shopping at Land’s End for kids stuff though – just enough to never pay full price :-)

That drives me nuts as well. Sadly, I love their kids (and adult) clothes. They’ve got me.
I’m currently buying my kids clothes at LE, actually. And I’m racing to get it done today because I don’t want to know what the prices are tomorrow! I have my basket all balanced for the various deals and don’t want them to change on me and make me start over. I already lost the snow pants from the OTC area when I went to a meeting.
