Whenever I’m visiting a friend with a new baby, I always like to bring something practical, like a pack of diapers, and something fun, like this cute taco toy.
The 12-piece infant toy includes a soft foam taco shell, three smooth fabric pieces, three textured crinkle pieces, three food-shaped fabric pieces, and two attached textured pieces. This fill and spill toy helps babies develop sensory, fine motor, and problem-solving skills. Its compact shape makes it great for on-the-go play as well.
Melissa & Doug’s Multi-Sensory Soft Taco toy is on sale for under $20 on Amazon.
Psst: Looking for info about nursing clothes for working moms or tips for pumping at the office? We’ve got them both…

Poster below…I “need” to come up with a experience for our silent auction. Basically a leader funds / organizes an event and people buy the experience via silent auction. Examples: Dinner for 8 with CEO / Golf foursome with 2 Leaders, One group did an after hours shop at a boutique with drinks (say 6 people could come).
Any experiences that you have seen / would be interested in buying with a mid level leader (I am a director). I am not a good enough golfer to feel comfortable sponsoring that.
Anyone else feel very bah humbug about “forced” volunteering or charitable giving at work? It feels like every week, someone has their hand out for some charity or other. I don’t mind people asking once. But the repeated emails and, worse, in-person follow ups, especially for donations of time in addition to money, are a lot. I already do a lot of extracurricular charitable work. I feel like if the firm wants to support a charity then they should go ahead and do that, not ask individuals to pay up. Thoughts?
I have a friend whose kid was diagnosed with autism oh, about a year ago. She will sometimes make comments like “that was really autistic” about my kid. Latest one was we were sitting next to each other, hugged my kid, and she said “I liked that, squeeze me harder.” I’m annoyed by the pathologizing of what seems like ordinary kid behavior to me but not sure it’s appropriate to call her out given her kid is autistic. What do you all think? (For what it’s worth I’m quite sure my kid isn’t autistic.)
I posted this today but it was a bit late – the ny mag article on kids sports is really worth a read! I feel like Jonathan Haidt needs to get ahold of this topic or someone similar.
Has anyone been following/seen the Oreo saga? Do you think it’s real or made up?
A fun question inspired by a playground chat with another mum – If you had to predict your childrens’ career from their current interests, what would you predict?
My 9 y/o boy – a tree surgeon. Combines his love of trees and love of climbing. Yesterday, he climbed to the top of our tree and carefully removed the ivy from the branches.
Posted yesterday on the main site but meant to post here for more family-oriented input! Bonus if youve been to any of these places post Hurricane Ian..
Family of four with a three and nine-year-old. Live in Boston and we’re looking to do a Florida Gulf Coast vacation the third week of April next year. The second weekend of that week we have to be in Atlanta for a family wedding and we’ve toyed with driving. My kids can handle it, even with the one-way rental it’s considerably cheaper than flying, and my husband went to college in a remote town that happens to be approximately midpoint on the drive which would make for a fun/easy stop… so I feel strongly we can make that work.
That said, where do we go in Florida? Clearwater is further north, which would help from the drive perspective. I’ve also looked at Marco Island. I have no experience on the Gulf Coast. JW Marriott Marco Island and The Sandpearl in Clearwater have been on our radar. Any experiences with the latter in particular? I have Marriott status, which usually makes me a Marriott snob, but I don’t want to skip over something that might be really great…. Thoughts? Other recs? Help!
Adding to yesterday’s post… we don’t want to go much further north due to some local nuclear family who would either insist on joining or be very, very offended we didn’t invite or visit. We just want to feel a little pampered (aka not an Airbnb) but have a chill vacation with beach bars/restaurants vs steakhouses and having to look dolled up for dinner.
Step 1 – Missed a lot yesterday but just wanted to say to everyone… parenting is hard. Yeah, there are 100% people who ‘aren’t parenting’ but I feel like most of the parents I opt to surround myself with are trying the best to do their best.
Step 2 – Intentionally looking to start the day with something light and fluffy – turns out that not one but TWO of the members of my team are expecting their first babies. What’s something relatively inexpensive that you were either given or purchased that ended up being indispensable? Looking to give them each a small personal gift along with our big team gift (big old gift card to wherever they’re registered).
Mine would be those muslin swaddle blankets and the skip hop diaper clutch. What’s yours?
