Budget Thursday: Wide Button-Collar Tunic Sweatshirt

I like everything about this elevated sweatshirt from J.Crew Factory. The first is that it’s sweatshirt material but looks like it could pass for a sweater over Zoom, with the high neck with buttons and the vibrant color options. I also like that the waist area has slits on the sides to be comfortable and flattering while sitting down. The longer length is also nice, and the oversized fit looks comfortable.

I like it buttoned all the way up and also with a few opened. I’ve gotta snag this one before fall comes!

The sweatshirt is currently on sale at J.Crew Factory for $29.50, down from a “comparable value” of $59.50. It’s available in the pictured olive as well as “Oxford royal,” “bronzed ochre,” and “heather dusk” in sizes XXS–3X. Wide Button-Collar Tunic Sweatshirt

I see many of you discussing clothes for tall thin toddlers. Where did you buy their clothes as babies?
My son is nearly 6w and is the 96% for height and 50% for weight. He has fit into the carters 3m size well for a few weeks, but is getting close on the length and the jump to 6m is huge for width. I bought some onesie extenders but they don’t fit every brand and only really work for his carters onesies. It also doesn’t help with footies, which we just won’t be able to buy many of going forward.
His length seems pretty even in both his torso and legs, but I haven’t measured to confirm.
What brands work best for long thin babies? Preference for the more budget friendly options when possible, though I’m willing to buy secondhand.

Now that my son is wearing shoes more, he gets stinky shoe feet! Any suggestions for either prevention or a smelly shoe remedy? Thanks!

I was WFH pre-Covid. About 4 years now. All I want in life is for DH to go back to the office fulltime.

Last week or the week before someone recommended the Bumkins reusable snack bags to me. I ordered them and really like them! Thanks!

My one-year-old daughter is transitioning to the young toddler room at daycare. She has only been crawling and pulling up for about a month and a half and has an overall very relaxed personality. So, she is doing a gradual transition along with one of her same-aged same-personality daycare buddies. If she seems particularly tired or off one day, they will allow her to go back to the infant room for a day or half-day for some comfort from her favorite teacher once or twice a week. She seems to be having a difficult time with the change and in the last week began crying when I drop her off at daycare. Any tips to help ease the transition and/or drop off time for her?

Any experience with Green Toys? My 9-month-old is super into trucks so I thought it would be fun to get her a couple of toy ones and theirs look good and I like that it’s recycled plastic. But the age limits all say 2+ – is that just an excess of caution? Would these be ok for a baby?

Unsolicited rec for online learning. My son has a gizmo gadget watch from Verizon (don’t know if they still make that model but I’m sure they have similar) and I can program “to dos” into his watch and set it so it plays an alarm until he dismisses the alarm. I find it helpful for reminding him to return to the computer 5 minutes BEFORE his next session starts, instead of waiting until the exact time the next one starts to start going back to his computer. Sigh. Kids.

Has anyone installed a fence and regretted it later? We are debating a fence in our small neighborhood in the suburbs for safety and privacy reasons. We have a lot of natural boundaries with plants and trees so I’m afraid of messing up a good thing, but I would really like to have more security with the kids.
