Clothes shopping for kids presents two issues regarding sizing: (1) As we all know, kids grow out of their clothes so quickly, and (2) It can be tough to find extended sizes for kids’ clothes. To make it a lot easier, we’ve rounded up all the stores and brands we could find that offer special sizes for children’s wear — husky clothes, plus-size clothes, slim clothes, you name it!
Please let us know in the comments if you know of any more!
Where to Find Extended Sizes for Kids’ Clothes
Target
Target’s Cat & Jack line includes girls’ slim and plus sizes as well as boys’ slim and husky sizes, and Art Class includes plus sizes (to a lesser degree — and, it’s harder to find particular size ranges with the search filters for that line). Their girls’ activewear All in Motion line offers plus sizes up to XL.
Old Navy
Extended sizes at Old Navy for girls’ clothing and boys’ clothing include slim and plus sizes up to XXL.
Gap
Online only, Gap offers slim and plus sizes for girls and slim and husky sizes for boys. (Slim is 4 slim to 16 slim for girls and 5 slim to 8 slim for boys; Plus is 7 plus to 18 plus for pants/shorts and M plus to XXL plus in tops; Husky is 6 husky to 18 husky for pants/shorts and M husky to XXL husky in shirts/tees.)

Department Stores with Kids’ Extended Sizes
Kohl’s carries boys’ slim and husky sizes and girls’ slim and plus sizes; the various brands have their own number ranges for sizing. JCPenney and Macy’s also carry brands with extended sizes.
Where do you usually buy extended sizes for kids’ clothes? Have you found any particular brands that run small or run large or that tend to fit kids with a certain body type?

Over the years, Children’s Place has been clutch for finding dress clothes for my very slim guy.

Thanks for finding all of these clothing stores. I have a brother with a kid who is getting older and has been having a hard time finding bigger clothes. Extended size clothing for kids will really help him out.

I know nike and adidas carry extended sizes for boys. Not very much of a selection, but it helps.

It’s nice to know that there are several alternatives available to ensure that our children are at ease and confident in their attire. As parents, we are so grateful that these businesses are genuinely attempting to be inclusive. Sharing this list with other parents in my neighborhood is revolutionary!
