I love wearing merino wool for my workouts, whatever the weather.
I have several of Athleta’s Foresthill tops, and as the weather warms, I’m looking to add their tank version to my growing collection.
These tops are made from a light and stretchy merino wool blend that wicks away moisture and doesn’t get too stinky. The mesh back allows air through to cool you off during any hike, run, or even errands on a warm day. Best of all, it comes in a rainbow of colors so you can find your perfect one (or two).
The Foresthill Ascent Tank is $23.99–$59.00 depending on the color. It’s available in sizes XXS–XL and 11 colors (some colors lucky sizes only).
This tank doesn’t come in plus sizes, unfortunately, but the Foresthill Ascent Turtleneck goes up to 2X.

The only thing itchier than wool is sweaty wool.

It looks nice though

Agree! I can’t imagine wearing wool to workout in. Just, no.

Workout wool generally does feel like wool though (and is often a blend). This piece is a nylon/wool/spandex blend, which I think means it is more nylon than anything else. I have a very soft Oiselle wool blend shirt (https://www.oiselle.com/products/flyout-wool-long-sleeve) that is my favorite long sleeve layer. It works for a wide range of temperatures too. Now it could be argued that the wool content is more gimmick than anything else; I’m really not sure.

Even 5% wool is too much for me.
