Baby monitors have come a long way since the last time I used one.
This bestseller has a silent rotating camera, zoom function, infrared night vision, and two-way audio. Also, in case you’re concerned about security, this monitor works without WiFi. Setup is easy, so it’s great for travel as well.
HelloBaby’s No-WiFi Baby Monitor is available at Amazon for under $65. You can also get additional cameras.
Psst: Looking for info about nursing clothes for working moms or tips for pumping at the office? We’ve got them both…

Any fun or surprising Christmas gift reactions?
DD1 “bought” DD2 light up cubes for the bathtub. They are so magical! DD2 loved them, and I have to say I enjoy them too! I also got a portable bench for coaching youth sports. We set it up immediately, of course, and everyone sat on it all day when we hosted Christmas. Unexpected extra seating, and pretty funny. Family also bought the kids a stair slide, and it goes quickly! They had a blast.
We love our Hello Baby monitor!!! Proud user with both of my kids. I love it because it’s easy to set up, easy to figure out and most importantly….the grandparents had no issues using it, haha!
Anyone else marooned in their childhood home and losing their mind?
I have 7 more days here and am already over it. My kids are bickering, my dad is glaring at them, my mother is criticizing me constantly, my sister is oblivious to anyone else’s needs, and her kids are mean! We’re trying to get out of the house as much as possible, but I don’t know how I am going to make it!
Usually, I am glad to have the geographic distance from my family so I am not tangled up in family drama all the time, but the flip side is that when we see them, it’s only once a year for 2 weeks, 24/7 and so much together time is so tiring. I really think we would all like each other more if we saw each other more frequently but for fewer hours at a time. I say this every year, but NEXT YEAR I will make this a shorter trip.
For those who made their own baby food – did you use your existing gear (blender etc.) or did you get a designated baby food set up? I’m struggling with a couple of things that are making me consider buying stuff:
– portion sizes. The baby is 6 months old so we’re starting solids but not making big portions yet. It’s a PITA to get out my big blender or food processor for the tiny little bit that the baby will eat.
– freezing and reheating. I know I can make big portions and freeze tiny portions, but I thought you weren’t supposed to microwave formula (or anything with formula in it, which this has)? I’m not going to heat stuff on the stove every time.
– storage. I’m using ice cube trays that have a cover but I’m guessing I’ll need something else as the baby gets bigger.
The nutribullet baby food pack has a little blender, steamer, and some freezer containers and it’s on sale, so I’m considering that one. Does anyone have experience with it or with other options?
I use this baby monitor! Can vouch for it, it’s easy to set up and travels well. Only negative is that the volume adjustment isn’t super intuitive (you have to navigate through a menu to change the volume rather than buttons on the side). Sounds like it wouldn’t matter but is annoying
Your friendly reminder to be careful about who you let have access to the baby monitor app on their phone!
Signed,
Someone whose MIL uses the monitor to spy on us at bedtime and throughout the night. (I am the only person in the family who thinks this is bizarre)
