A nursing tee without the telltale front slit? I would have bought these in every color!

Kindred Bravely’s bestselling tee pack includes two soft tees you’ll want to wear nonstop. This tee has a drapey cut that also works when you’re expecting, and a discreet side slit for easy nursing or pumping access.

The Everyday Nursing T-shirt Pack is on sale for $59.95 and comes in four different packs in sizes XS-3X.

Psst: Looking for info about nursing clothes for working moms or tips for pumping at the office? We’ve got them both…

Update from my 4.5 year old’s follow-up appointment post last week’s strabismus surgery – all looks good and he got cleared to go back to school today :)

Has anyone ever done an MRI for breast cancer risk? I qualify for one due to density apparently but my doctor was very meh on whether I should do it. I’m torn. I’m inclined to do it (I think?) I hate the idea of false positives and I’ve heard it’s very unpleasant. but I’ve heard enough scary stories to want to do whatever I can screening wise.

I wish the doctor would just say “yes I recommend it” or “no I don’t” but she was very much in the camp of it’s up to me.

We hit an unexpected fun milestone today- my 4 year old scootered all the way to school today! It’s about 0.5 miles so we walk/stroller often, but over the weekend she declared she wanted to scooter to school. She’s never gone anywhere near that distance. She got frustrated a couple of times and sat down to pout twice but she chose to stick with it (I was pushing her brother in the double stroller so she could have hopped in) and was so proud of herself.

Very specific question… has anyone used the butler level at a Beaches resort?

We’re going on vacation soon. I’ll be between jobs so our family of 4, including a 20 month old and a 7 year old, are hitting the “easy button” and heading to Beaches T&C for a week in mid/late September (please pray to the hurricane gods for me to stay far away….). We first thought we were going to Hawaii but I can’t justify the trip from the east coast for less than a week and pulling DD out of 2nd grade so early in the school year (we start tomorrow) for that long was not sitting well with me. We’ve been to Beaches T&C before as a family of 3 and had a fantastic time.

We missed our 10 year anniversary celebration and did nothing for 40th bdays each with a pregnancy and infant… we’re so past due to do something for us as a family. I’m also leaving a deeply toxic job and going to a fabulous one after 15 years. This is a true celebration/retreat for all of us. TECHNICALLY, the Butler level is within our loose budget. But the frugal person inside of me cringes at the price point..

Someone tell me it’s ok? We CAN afford it. We’re getting flights for free on points. It’s just like 75% more than non butler which feels insane. We get hand and foot service, private airport transfers, no waiting at any restaurants, reserved cabanas by the pool each day (so no towel wars to find a spot)… just lots of little perks throughout out stay.

WWYD? YOLO?

Middle school parents: how many “study hall” periods does your child have in a week? We are new to middle school and just got our kid’s schedule. There is a 4-block rotation and she has an hour “study hall” on two days, and then twice on a third day. Because this is a 4-day rotation, there will be weeks when she has study hall for 5 hours a week, and other weeks where she will have 6 hours a week. This seems excessive to me! She is a high-achieving (and sometimes high-anxiety kid) on the accelerated track in math and english and could probably benefit from taking a break during the day to read or whatever, but 6 hours of break a week seems like a lot. To be clear, this is not a guided hour, they are in the cafeteria with a monitor to make sure they’re not fighting/playing on their phones, but it’s not like she can get math tutoring or something during this block. Most kids apparently do their homework or read a book.

My middle school did not have block scheduling or study hall, so this is a new model to me that is maybe better and I am just reacting to it being unknown? Does this seem right?

Another tablet question…we do not currently own any tablets (kids are 3, 7, and 9). However, after several very long road trips this summer, I think I want to get a single tablet that I can mount in the middle of our backseat (they make brackets for these) so that we can intersperse reading/games with movies.

I don’t really want to pay for an iPad since we will only be using it for this one purpose (so, probably 3-4 times a year). But people tell me that the Fires are total trash. Note that a kid will never be actively using it — I will set up the movie and put it on for all of them — so user-friendliness is not super important. What should I get?

After reading yesterday’s post about gaming and I pads, I’m thinking about switching to a kindle or fire for my kid who loves to read on epic on the I pad. Has anyone else made this switch? Kids Fire pro or kindle color soft for my 8 and 10 year olds?

I would love to buy these in every color but they only come in black white and insipid pink. So. No.
