Old Navy - Maternity Cross-Front Nursing Sweatshirt

When I was nursing, comfort was my top priority. I would have bought this cozy cross-front nursing sweatshirt in all five colors.

This long-sleeved, crewneck sweatshirt is made from a cozy cotton-blend fleece. The cross-front makes it easy to nurse or pump, and the relaxed fit means it also works as maternity wear. Add your favorite maternity leggings for a casual outfit you can wear on repeat.

Old Navy’s maternity nursing sweatshirt is $18-$26 and comes in sizes XS-XXL.

just got an email from our school district informing me about “National Parental Involvement Month.” I kind of thought that was every day. Didn’t realize it required a special designation.

Does anyone have any resources or books about parenting ADHD kids they’ve found helpful? My first grader does not have any kind of diagnosis and we don’t expect to pursue one in the near term since she’s doing well in school both academically and socially, but she has a lot of personality traits that I understand are common with ADHD kids and I think reading some advice about how best to parent these kids might be useful.

Argh… after the chaos of last week (global, professional, existential…), I thought this week would be better. Kiddo and I had a cheery cycle to school, he showed off his new stunt skills from his cycle class this weekend, happily chatting all the way. I dropped him off, pulled out from the parking lot, signalled to turn, and somehow fell off my bike! Luckily the driver behind me was paying attention and didn’t run me over. My pedal kept spinning once my leg was under my bike, so I’ve got a glorious arc of bruise across my knee and inner thigh. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends, and a big fall or injury always triggers a lupus flare and I just feel so annoyed with myself.

Bike is ok, and nothing is broken, so hoping I can get back on tomorrow. It really causes a logistical hassle when I can’t cycle.

Slipper recommendations for kids? My 6yo and 8yo are asking for them but I don’t know where to start plus I am really confused by sizing. We’re looking for little kid size 11 and size big kid 1-2.

I missed the thread from the other day regarding exclusive pumping! For similar reasons, I exclusively pumped with my first for 10 months.

Some tricks – get enough pump parts and bottles so you don’t have to hand wash them. Post on local mom Facebook/other groups and buy the off-brand stuff on Amazon (it works the same). It was honestly the best $100 I spent my whole PG and I don’t know why I waited to long.

Use the sanitize setting on your dishwasher overnight and then you will never have to wash/sanitize parts again.

Also, make sure you have a hands free pumping bra that works well.

I found that it was helpful to size up one from my recommended flange size.

If the rubbing of your nipple on the flange is causing irritation, coat the inside of the flange in olive oil to stop the friction.

If you have to feed the baby while pumping – I found that sitting on the couch/bed pumping using a hands free pumping bra and then having the baby in a recliner baby chair immediately next to you is the best position. Not the most relaxing pump but actually helpful to multitask so you have more time for other things.

If you have to pump/store fresh milk in the fridge/warm refrigerated milk at night, I found having a really tiny fridge and microwave (warm milk in a Pyrex then pour into a bottle) in our bedroom so helpful. Going down stairs to the kitchen multiple times a night for these things was really hard on me. We got ours on our local Facebook page but they are also cheap at target/amazon. Again throwing a bit of money at this problem really, really helped.

Finally, be careful about what lactation consultants you use! You are in such a vulnerable state right now.

I worked with one that was so terrible and put me on this grueling schedule (waking up at 2 am to pump, doing “power hours”) – it really wrecked me.

Of course your baby deserves love and sustenance but so do you! Your baby will do best when s/he has a mom that is doing well too!

Hang in there! Sending you all of the love.

What are Kids These Days wanting and wearing for snow boots? Still LL Bean boots and Sorels with the fluff? My daughter is 12 and needs winter shoes- both for wearing to school and for things like sledding in deeper snow.

Nice pick! I have the maternity hoodie version and it has been a staple. It’s a little big now that I’m no longer pregnant, maybe I need to upgrade for my new size
