ECCO - Soft 7 Sneaker

Something on your mind? Chat about it here.

You usually don’t find “comfort shoes” and “stylish” in the same sentence. My feet can no longer tolerate the pointy, narrow, high-heeled shoes of my 20s, but is it too much to ask for shoes that work for both my feet and style?

These Ecco sneakers marry both form and function. Wear these sleek leather sneakers to the office and on your way to happy hour. The cushioned insole is removable in case you need more width, and the textile lining keeps your feet comfortable year-round. It’s available in nine colors, so you’ll be sure to find one that suits your tastes.

Ecco’s Soft 7 Sneaker is $138-$175, depending on the color. This shoe is available in sizes 4-4.5 to 11-11.5.

BIL’s friend passed away after a long illness. BIL & SIL asked DH to stay at their house and watch their teens while they go to the funeral (will have to fly there). DH agreed because he feels he is indebted to BIL bc he has helped us with some home projects. Neither DH nor I know why BIL didn’t ask the grandparents, who are retired and would have happily helped out. Now I have to solo parent for at least three days while DH babysits their kids. I’m a little annoyed.

Has anyone taken early elementary age kids to &Juliet? I’m debating whether to take my 7 year old when it comes to our city. She is generally a good theater goer who loves musicals, but she’s so far only seen things that are more kid-oriented (Aladdin, Lion King, Frozen, Mean Girls).

Whelp I just remembered there was a fourth grade parent event this morning for the kids to show off what they’ve been working on so far…and clearly I missed it. The teacher sent one email last week and I didn’t write it down right away. Normally there are like three reminders. It’s hard having everything be electronic! I feel soooo bad.

I could use a distraction so I’m trying to think through the guest list for my first grader’s birthday party in a couple months. She has 10 friends from K that she still plays with regularly and wants to invite, and she really wants her whole Girl Scout troop there, which is 7 girls besides her. These two groups represent about 1/4th of her first grade class, so if we add in even a few new first grade friends we’re pushing half the class, and we should just invite everyone, right? That’s almost 35 kids total but I think we can make it work.

Also, is it horribly gauche to say something like “Apologies no siblings due to space constraints” on the invite? I’ve never seen this language on an invite (in fact, many in our circles say “siblings welcome”) but whenever you invite the whole class you get at least a couple uninvited siblings and if we have good turnout we’re really going to be straining the limits of the party venues. It’s January in the Midwest so no option to do anything outside.
