When I saw this skirt online (it’s from Target’s A New Day line), I loved the shape of it. Then I saw that the material is 95% modal with 5% spandex. Since my husband has switched all of his undershirts from cotton to micromodal, he has won me over to the modal fan club. Modal is … Read More about Budget Thursday: Wrap Skirt
Accessory Tuesday: Cobble Hill Wallet
I am in the market for a new wallet, and this one at Shopbop is so tempting! I love the bright color (which is so necessary when looking for it in the deep, dark recesses of my bag), the asymmetric front flap, and the textured leather. My current wallet is the zip-around type, and I’ve … Read More about Accessory Tuesday: Cobble Hill Wallet
Makeup & Beauty Monday: The Mattes Edition Eyeshadow & Gel Liner Palette
I used to think that makeup sets were kind of scammy. You liked one color and the rest were add-ons that you’d never wear. However, during the holidays one year, my mother-in-law bought me a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow set that I still use every day. Unlike with other makeup brands, I find all of Bobbi … Read More about Makeup & Beauty Monday: The Mattes Edition Eyeshadow & Gel Liner Palette
Budget Thursday: Cotton Blend Cami
I knew the day would come when I would feel like I aged out of shopping at Forever 21. I think since I basically stopped shopping for two years straight (the nine months I was pregnant plus the year my body wasn’t the same, I was in a complete brain fog and I completely lost … Read More about Budget Thursday: Cotton Blend Cami
Accessory Tuesday: Ashley Huggie Earrings
I understand why Instagram is such a valuable app for marketing purposes. It is where I find most of the things I want to buy — like these earrings, which are always worn by Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere. In her Instagram stories, she always highlights them and adds a variation of “These bestselling … Read More about Accessory Tuesday: Ashley Huggie Earrings
Accessory Tuesday: Mary Jane Flat
I want to give props to whomever does the shoe buying for the Free People website. Their selection is really unique and edgy. I think that some of the shoes are straight-up hideous, but at least there’s a point of view that seems consistent with the brand. These flats are cute but also have a … Read More about Accessory Tuesday: Mary Jane Flat
Family Friday: Fashion Tape
I have one or two tops in my closet that I would not be able to wear were it not for this Fashion Tape. One shirt has a bow that just doesn’t lay right, and the other is a crisp white button-down where the buttons gape a little. I can keep these shirts in my … Read More about Family Friday: Fashion Tape
Makeup & Beauty Monday: One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer
I’ve recently seen a lot of good reviews for this hair dryer, and I’m dying to see if it lives up to the hype. It reminds me of what every girl had in middle school, the dryer with the brush attached, but (hopefully) updated with better technology. Since having my son, I’ll admit that it’s … Read More about Makeup & Beauty Monday: One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer
Budget Thursday: V-Neck Blouse with Flounce
Personally, I find it difficult to shop at H&M. I often go into the dressing room with an armful of hangers and leave with nothing. However, the items that I do end up purchasing I wear all the time. This is a great work top — the deep v-neck is flattering without showing too much, … Read More about Budget Thursday: V-Neck Blouse with Flounce
Accessory Tuesday: 14k Gold Sideways Initial Necklace
I am drawn to initial jewelry and monograms. Maybe it stems from the validated feeling I got as a kid when I found my name in the selection of personalized key chains they sold at gift shops, but I love having things customized. I knew I wanted a piece of jewelry with my son’s initial … Read More about Accessory Tuesday: 14k Gold Sideways Initial Necklace
Makeup & Beauty Monday: Makeup Sponge & Brush Cleaner
When I was about 16, I had a birthday sleepover party and invited an acquaintance who I was only somewhat friends with. Well, it turned out this girl’s mom worked at a Yves Saint Laurent makeup counter, and this acquaintance gifted me an amazingly gorgeous set of YSL makeup brushes. When I opened them I was all, “meh” (teens!), but when I showed them to my mom she started drooling, and I gave her a few of them and started using the rest. To this day, I am STILL using them. I use this makeup brush cleanser after being given a sample in a Birchbox. A little goes a long way and it lasts forever. I know we are all probably guilty of not washing our makeup brushes enough, but buying a product specifically for that purpose has definitely increased the frequency with which I wash them. The cleaner is $18 at Amazon and is eligible for Prime. Beautyblender Makeup Sponge and Brush Cleaner

Family Friday: Secret Socks
These socks were a recommendation to me from my sister, and I’ve since bought several pairs and never looked back. I had a little bit of sticker shock at first, but they’re totally worth it! My footwear of choice on the weekends are sneakers, and I’ve always been hunting for low-cut socks to wear with … Read More about Family Friday: Secret Socks
