Per the comment below,
We’re going for a week to Puerto Rico in December/Jan & looking for an area to stay in & activities to do- kids are 6/9/11 and generally love outdoors/nature. We typically do 1 big activity per day- when we went to Maui it was snorkeling/whale watching/farm tour, etc.
I’m about a year postpartum. I’m also 42. How do I tell whether certain body changes are postpartum or perimenopause? I’m talking about things like inconsistent periods, hair shedding/loss, painful hormonal acne, skin texture changes, joint pain, foot pain. My next OB appointment is in a couple of months. What tests should I ask for?
I realized I answered a question on yesterday’s thread this morning, so in case it gets missed – for the person asking about Puerto Rico, check out one of the bioluminescent bays. More details in yesterday’s thread.
Y’all, I know it’s an old joke that some of us look like…the way I look…at daycare drop off, and some moms look like models. But several years into this, I just found out the moms with perfect hair at my kids’ small, small-town, daycare were actually models! Like legit, paid career, on tv, actual models. Honestly, it actually makes me feel less insecure.
But that being said, anyone else willing to post a morning ‘fit check? I did get a shower this morning, although the kids were wrestling and screaming on the bathroom rug. But I definitely grabbed someone else’s underpants from the laundry and didn’t even have time to fix that.
So are there any cold medicines that actually work to reduce cold symptoms (other than pain relievers for pain)?
For those who still have to wear formal wear to work– what are your go-to cushy yet formal low heels? I;m talking on your feet in court all day wear.
I usually buy NineWest Arlene pumps, but the latest ones I ordered to replace my old ones have very little cushion and no tread. I am frankly worried about slipping as much as I am about comfort! I know the real answer is wear comfortable flats, and I do on the days Im in the office, but I would like a pair of comfortable heels when the situation calls for it.
Any squash/pumpkin soup recs that can be made dairy-free? We’re hosting a little soup and cider ahead of Halloween guising.
I saw that yesterday GCA asked about wide-legged pants in cold/slushy weather. I walk to work and use rubber bands — I roll the pants up a bit to the top of my boots and them rubber-band them so they don’t drag. If you want something a bit nicer you could use bike pant leg straps (I used to have some and then lost them, hence rubber bands). This won’t work if you care about looking nice during your commute but it is quite functional!
