It’s mid-November — and while it may feel weeks away, the holidays have a habit of catching me off guard, especially if my gifting includes Advent calendars.
There are so many fun options this year beyond the usual chocolates. Here’s an Advent calendar that includes 24 pairs of colorful socks. Patterns range from stripes to snowmen to flaming burgers. These socks fit men’s shoe sizes 8–12 and have reinforced heels and toes so they’ll last through the holidays and beyond.
Happy Socks’ 24-Pack Crew Socks Advent Calendar is $260 at Nordstrom.

I’m starting to think about presents for my kids. I have a 10 yo who is a voracious reader and a 7 yo who is just becoming an independent reader. Would a kids Kindle Paperwhite be a good gift? It looks like we could check out ebooks from our library in addition to whatever comes with the Kindle kids subscription. Any experiences?
