I’ve been practicing yoga off and on for years. I’m trying to get back “on” again and this pretty mat might supply the motivation I need.
This two-in-one yoga mat from Yoga Design Lab combines an absorbent microfiber towel with a 3.5 mm rubber mat, providing you with both grip and cushion. This design is perfect for me since I often find my hands sliding in certain poses. This mat also comes with a shoulder strap for yogis on the go.
The Combo Yoga Mat is $88.00 at Nordstrom.

Oh, ick. This is essentially a towel you can’t throw in the washer.
GCA says
Yes, er… How do you clean it?!
Anon says
You can machine wash it on gentle according to the care instructions.

Does anyone do yoga with your bigger kids? Any recommendations for an online program or some streaming content? TIA

Pre-pandemic, I took my then-10-year-old to the Y with me. She loved it. She did not like on-line programs.

How big are your kids? Peloton’s fit family yoga content is a hit with my 7 year old.
EDAnon says
My 5yo does Peleton with me (the Horne up ones). He’s not 100% at all but it’s fun.

We do Cosmic Kids yoga with our little kids.

+1 my 4 year old loves Cosmic Kids yoga. She will sometimes do a regular yoga video too but she loses interest more easily than with Cosmic Kids.
Anon says
Even my 8 yo enjoys some of the videos

Can you introduce an ok to wake clock for the first time at 4? My just turned 4 year old has been waking up so early for the last six months or so. For a while we had luck getting her to go back to sleep in our bed but even that has stopped working recently. Most days she wakes up between 5:30 and 6:30 but there have been days when she gets out of bed at 3:30 and won’t go back to sleep even when we tell her it’s the middle of the night. We – and she! – are exhausted. She is not a low sleep needs kid and until very recently she was a 7:30-7:30 sleeper, and I can’t believe her sleep needs have changed so dramatically in such a short time (and we definitely see evidence of sleep deprivation in her behavior). She claims she doesn’t know when daytime is and when she’s allowed to get up so we were thinking the clock might help (at the very least we will have a response when she tells us she doesn’t know when she’s allowed to get up?), but everyone I know who uses one introduced it at a much younger age.
Anon says
Does she know her numbers? If so, you can just get a real clock and tell her to stay in bed until the first number is a “6.” My kids got pretty good at telling time from waiting for it to be time to get up.
Anon says
She knows her numbers when she wants to. ;) I feel like using a real clock would lead to a lot “oh I thought it said 6…” excuses.

I think you totally could. I would invest in a Hatch — it’s much easier to be able to change it remotely.
Anon says
We started using our Hatch at 3.5 and even though my kids can tell time now, it’s still useful.
