If you’re looking for a fun gift for the Francophile in your life, how about these cute macaron candles?
Just in time for spring, this trio of petite rose scented candles would make a great housewarming or thank you gift. These coconut wax candles are hand-poured in California and burn for about 15 hours. After, save the glass vessels for a little je ne sais quoi.
Voluspa’s macaron candle gift set is $54 at Nordstrom.

I was laid off about 6 months ago. Since then I’ve launched my own freelance business and casually looked for fulltime jobs. The freelancing has been going well, my income is not what it was before but is pretty close. However, it’s sort of a volatile industry and the income could dry up quickly through no fault of my own. I recently got a full time job offer and am considering taking it because of the stability and because it seems like it’s a nice team to work with and reasonably interesting work. The downside is that it’s fully in-office and I’ve been fully remote for years. While I realize finding a fully remote salaried position is unlikely now, I’m quite hesitant to give up being home with my elementary age kids after school. They love being home with me and their neighbor friends, and they do a great job of entertaining themselves so I can work although of course it’s not quite as focused work as it would be without any kids in the house. The hiring manager told me she’s open to negotiating 1 day of remote work if it’s important to me. I’d much rather be able to leave every day at 3 and finish up remotely at home than have 1 full day a week at home. Does it seem reasonable to ask for 8-3 office hours and finishing up the day remotely? I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot before I even start but at the same time now is when I have the most leverage, right?
Added context: my husband is the financial breadwinner and is supportive of whatever I want to do with respect to taking the job as offered, trying to negotiate, or just walking away to continue pursing the freelance work.
The salary is low for Reasons I don’t want to get into because they’re kind of specific to my situation, and there’s no room to negotiate on that. The hiring manager clearly feels bad about the salary so I feel like there’s maybe more negotiating room on other things than there might otherwise be. But I know asking for lifestyle perks is always more loaded than asking for more money.
