My kid just got home from school and ran around the house shrieking at the top of her lungs for a solid 10 minutes, and she hasn’t yet consumed a single piece of candy. Godspeed, everyone!
Ugh I think Halloween is one of the more stressful days every year to be a working parent… trying to get out on time to be with kids, and people not in the little kid stage are dropping meetings on short notice right at the end of the day or into the evening.
Seeking book recs for my 7 year old daughter! Looking for things like Dory Fantasmagory where it’s not a graphic novel but there is a lot of visual mixed in with the text.
What glass bottles are people using with babies these days? We were team plastic with our first but need to start from scratch, and I’d prefer to do glass this time.
My 13 month old has started throwing all her food on the floor. Any suggestions on how to avoid/minimize this? I’ve tried just giving her small amounts, but that didn’t help. I would also love any recommendations for books on dealing with toddlers. I felt like I had so many for the first year, but none for this stage.
does anyone know of a children’s book that features a white cat. my daughter wants to rewear her white cat halloween costume for our school’s storybook parade, but i need to find a book
There is an instagram parenting account that is promoting its new sibling guide…and the creator has one 2.5yo, lol. I get that she has degrees and is a professional in child development or some such thing, but it’s really hard for me to take advice seriously until the advisor has actually LIVED what they are counseling you about. (I felt the same when she promoted a tantrums course when she had one infant.) Siblings in theory are very different than siblings in practice!
That is my snarky take today (too much candy, I guess!) To make this constructive, two influencers I really like who have kids in the upper teens now and have lived through it are Mary Van Geffen (raising spicy kids/being a spicy mom) and The Workspace for Children (protecting play in childhood, but with a no-fluff, occasionally a curse word edge)
My husband and I had a proper 3 night getaway and oh my goodness, it was so nice. We’ve been home without our son, but not having a to do list was amazing. We went on long cycle rides, ate nice food, and chatted. Grateful for my dad taking kid duty – I’m pretty sure they ate a ton of takeaway and I came home to find my 7 year old playing blackjack with poker chips, drinking oat milk out of a whisky glass, but they both survived.
