Turtlenecks are winter’s unsung heroes. This one from M.M.LaFleur is anything but boring.
As the owner of several versions of their Axam turtleneck, I can personally attest to their versatility. This lightweight top fits easily under blazers and cardigans without any added bulk. The printed jersey version is the ideal winter floral — just add a black blazer or cardigan for an office-friendly look.
M.M.LaFleur’s Axam Layering Turtleneck in printed jersey is $155 and available in sizes XS-XXL. It’s also available in several other colors in a stretchy cotton blend (some on sale!).

I’ve known for months that my husband voted for Trump. I’m a moderate dem who cannot stand Trump. It’s becoming harder and harder for me to accept that my husband actively voted against the interests of me and my daughter. He’s a great husband and father in many ways but this is really bothering me. Anyone else in mixed political marriages?
Any recs for graphic novels a la Dog Man but less crude?
My 7 year old wants to read to my 5 year old who loves peak boy humor. I don’t mind but reviews say words like “dumb” and “idiot” are in Dog Man and I’m hoping for something tamer.
How do folks find overnight care if they don’t have family around/willing to watch their kids? I don’t know anyone who has ever left their kids with someone besides family, so I wouldn’t be able to get recommendations from my network, and I keep getting hung up on leaving my child alone with a stranger. But I would love to be able to take an anniversary trip with my husband.
Chicago area folks, any recs for how to spend a few kid-free days? We live in Indiana so we visit the city pretty frequently and have done most of the big touristy things, but we usually visit with kids. DH & I are thinking about spending a few days there alone to celebrate our 40th birthdays in May. Favorite splurge-y hotels, nice restaurants, best places for a massage?
Is MM La Fleur worth it? Seems crazy pricey for a turtleneck?
Any recommendations for good illustrated books of poetry or rhyming picture books for the 3-5 age range? We’ve read and loved a bunch of Mother Goose rhymes, Room on the Broom, and Seven Silly Eaters (and I liked reading the Great Highland Games Chase but my kid wasn’t quite as enthused), but haven’t done great with When We Were Very Young or Don’t Bump the Glump, which are a bit more abstract.
Hello from day 5 of what was supposed to be a 3 day weekend 🫠
