I love gifting (and getting) kids’ clothing sets like this one — no need to figure out which pants go with which top.

This cute set features a cotton-blend sweatshirt covered in construction vehicles, and comfortable stretchy, ribbed leggings. Add a toy bulldozer for a gift set that will please any construction-crazed kid.

Next’s sweatshirt and leggings set is $29 at Nordstrom and comes in sizes 2-3Y to 6-7Y.

Thank you for the late Aug b-day vs Kinder thoughts yesterday! Such a good point to just know your own kid and listen to your gut. I know there is no right answer anyway, but I am so far very glad I sent my other August b-day kiddo at (barely) 5.

screaming into the void: why did summer camp sign ups start today? why? and could the various providers just coordinate to put out programming at the same time….
that is all.

School is finally open and daycare opened yesterday, so all my kids are out of the house for the first time since December 20th (albeit only for a few hours because of 2-hour delays, but I’ll take it)!

Anyone else have some Friday wins?

Working motherhood – We’ve got early release every Friday and have dropped aftercare. My son interrupted my work call to borrow a pen/ask me how to write Lira, dressed in a furry vest (Viking costume) and a blue velvet cape (royalty costume), both gorgeous courtesy of grandma’s crafting skills. Luckily it was a call with my friendly co-authors, who paused our conversation to admire his outfit.

Quiet Friday – any updates for the group?

Not much of an update here, but I guess a follow-up and request for more help. I posted about not knowing how/what to do with an excess glut of clothing. You all encouraged me to shop the bags for a capsule wardrobe for relevant sizes, and donate the rest. I did, and it was the most satisfying purge of my life.

Now, as my kids are aging up, what do with artwork and pictures that they now consider “babyish” that used to hang in their rooms? I’m happy to donate pictures I bought from like Wayfair or Pottery Barn Kids, but what about pictures they drew that we had framed or larger pictures that were blown up and framed? I’m currently staring at a stack of photos and framed prints that are personal to us, but no one wants to display anymore.

Venting into the wind! I have b/g twins – ages 5.5. They weigh the same amount. They are the same height. HOWEVER, my daughter is comfortably wearing 6/6x pants, and size 4 pants from the SAME BRAND are falling off my son’s body. Every single time I check out with size 3s and size 6s in my cart from the same company, I kind of want to shake whoever is coming up with this insane sizing.
