A toddler wearing a pink reusable swim diaper, jumping into a pool while holding hands with an adult whose body is cropped out

I went through a fair number of disposable swim diapers with both kids. If you prefer something reusable, consider this one from Splash About.

This pull-on swim diaper has a secure, yet comfortable fit. Made from a neoprene fabric blend, the diaper has snug, leak-proof seals at the waist and thighs to keep accidents from shutting down the pool. It can be worn countless times without losing its shape or elasticity, so you can enjoy the pool with your little one all summer long.

Splash About’s reusable swim diaper is $20-$21 at Nordstrom and comes in sizes 0-3M to 2-3T. It’s available in more than two dozen colors and patterns.

I want to pack an evacuation bag to keep in my car, probably only about the size of a carry-on luggage. The most likely scenario is spending the night in a HS gym out of an abundance of caution. What would you pack for a 2yo and 5 yo?

Where do your middle school girls like to shop for clothes in-person? Do you generally shop for them? With them? Or give them a budget and let them loose?

My almost 2yo is getting tubes on Monday, surgery is set for 11:30am. I will follow all pre-surgery instructions of course. The instructions state that he can have a light snack ending at 4:30am before the surgery. I am not sure if I should wake him up early to let him have a light snack…or let him sleep as much as possible beforehand and know he will be crabby until he can eat again post-surgery. WWYD? Part of me wants to give him a hardy snack right before bed and let him sleep as much as possible. The other part of me knows he wakes up hungry, and surgery schedules often run later than planned so maybe waking him up wouldn’t be the worst idea.

How did your child change after turning 3? We are only having once child, so this is my first time seeing all these changes and I am amazed at how fast my child is changing at this age (turning three).

I also feel wistful about the things she used to do that she no longer does. This morning was the first morning she wanted to sit all by herself for our morning book time, instead of snuggling. I feel sad about these types of changes.

Those of you with older children, give me your perspective, please. I am trying to be present in the moment.

I just saw a social media post advising parents to tell teachers that they were refusing to let their children use classroom technology and demanding that the teacher provide all materials on paper. Is this a thing now? I think Chromebooks are mostly evil, but it seems unreasonable to demand that the teacher prepare special materials for your child outside of a 504 or IEP.

Inspired by the comment below: Can we have an update thread, especially for anyone who has unexpectedly set off a lot of discussion?

I was thinking about the mom who was really struggling with private vs public school. What did you decide to do?

Looking for recommendations on where to shop for longer girls dresses for a tall 5 year old. Target and Old Navy dresses come way above her knees, but she prefers for it to be knee length or longer. Had some luck at HM, but wondering if there are other brands to look at for midi type dresses for kids.

I’m going to a kid’s pool party this weekend and my 5 yo doesn’t know how to swim yet – it’s a given that I’ll be in a swimsuit and in the pool with them, right? Or am I expected to put a lifevest on them and watch from the side?

Checking in on the mom with the 9 y/o struggling at sleepaway camp- how is he /are you all doing??
