With two school-aged kids, I thought my Madewell days were over. But then I saw this simple, yet luxe bag that completely fits who I am now.
Madewell’s Essential Sling Crossbody has an adjustable strap so you can wear it multiple ways. The on-trend crescent design has more room than you’d think and fits neatly under your arm. Available in four rich colors (I’m torn between “chocolate rum” and “luxury forest”), it’s the perfect everyday bag for winter.
This bag is $148. If you like this shape, but need something larger, consider Madewell’s Essential Curve Shoulder Bag for $198.
P.S. Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate!

Just need to share because I can’t share with people in real life. I’m pregnant! This is an IVF baby and I’m super early (4w3d) but I’m already jumping the gun and looking at all things pregancy related. Is it just me or are there no maternity clothes if you don’t want to wear tight/skimpy clothes? Gap and old navy seem to have a few things but I don’t really get how I’m supposed to build a whole wardrobe when there are barely any stores that sell normal clothing.
Is it appropriate to bring a small gift for elementary age kids who’ve recently lost a grandparent? My husband’s extended family member died and we’re going to the shiva and will be bringing food as per tradition, but I wanted to get something small for her grandkids as well since I’m thinking they could use the distraction and something to keep them occupied while the adults are grieving and dealing with logistics. Any suggestions for what to get a 9 year old boy? I was going to get an easy (no adult involvement needed) craft kit for the 7 year old girl.
