This cardigan will rescue you from your office’s aggressive A/C.

The long-ish length of this open-front cardigan works with everything from your favorite blouse/trouser combo to tailored dresses. Little details like side slits, silver buttons at the wrist, and a fine knit texture elevate this office staple.

Anne Klein’s Carmel Open-Front Cardigan is $99 at Nordstrom and comes in “leafy green” (looks like a light olive or dark chartreuse, depending on your point of view) or the pictured “blue jay.” It’s available in sizes XXS–XL.

Anne Klein has a similar cardigan in plus sizes; you can find it in three spring-y colors at Belk ($43 and up) and in black at AnneKlein.com ($109).

It’s a miracle!!! My 6 year old is picky, like “eats 10 foods” picky. We’ve taken a “she‘ll grow out of it” approach for the most part but we’ve questioned it and been judged for it, especially because she’s SO picky, not just normal kid picky. Today at dinner she randomly asked to try a piece of salmon which she was crazy for as a toddler but hasn’t eaten since before she turned 2.
First bite: it’s ok. (Which in and of itself is a victory!)
Second bite: actually I kind of like it
Third bite: I love it!

My 3.5 year old just came back home from a park meetup playdate with 2 other children (plus my younger child) and told me she had terrible behavior, took all the other kids toys and kicked them. And then ran away from the nanny when it was time to leave.

She is so smart and strong and I love her to death. But I feel like I failed her as a mother because we spent so much of her early childhood locked down in pandemic days and now I don’t know how much of that is what I’m seeing now vs. how much of her current behavior is just normal kid stuff (or normal-for-her and would have happened regardless of pandemic). I just feel low.

what (if anything) do you do to celebrate the last day of the school year? today is our last day and i was going to give my kids ice cream for dinner, but yesterday at school they had two popsicles and two donuts and i know there will be more sweets today, so i’m thinking of saving that for another day

We’re on vacation in Europe and my kid’s BFF is visiting family in China for the summer and they just FaceTimed each other for half an hour and omg it was so cute. I know there are lots of downsides to technology and kid mental health but this way of being able to stay connected to long distance friends is so great. They’ve decide they will FaceTime every day for the rest of summer, lol.

Quick update on the guardianship situation with Susie, Bonnie, and Joe. We asked Bonnie and she enthusiastically agreed and reiterated that she was up for it and that if it ever came to that, she would arrange her life for our kid. Susie also enthusiastically agreed to be the back up. She did say “I was worried you wouldn’t want us at all with our marital problems” and I had to white lie and say that wasn’t a factor (it’s the primary reason she’s not first…) and she seemed relieved. We are very relieved ourselves to have two solid backups with family members we trust and we might still ask Joe to be the executor of the estate after we talk to a lawyer and see what’s recommended. Thanks everyone for your input the two times I posted.

My husband’s just chaperoned the 1st grade field trip (he’s a saint, the teacher asked him if either of us could do it, and I dodged) and I suspect he’s going to need to lie in a dark, quiet room when he gets home.

Which wearable pumps do you all like best? Last time I just had the Spectra S2 (plug-in) and S9 (portable), and this time I’d like to get a wearable as well. Thanks!

I have a ton of eight year old girl birthdays upcoming. Any great go to gifts? My kid is not super helpful, as these aren’t her bffs. Still want to get something nice! Thanks!
