If you love a knit blazer, this luxe version looks more like your favorite suit jacket.
This jacket marries the silhouette of a traditional suit with the softness of a knit. Crafted from a baby alpaca/silk blend, this substantial double-layer knit just needs a simple contrasting shell underneath. Add the matching trousers for a full suit.
Sskein’s Gabi Blazer is $928 and comes in cocoa and charcoal. It’s available in sizes XS-L.

My daughter is 10, and when she had a friend over recently, I realized she doesn’t really have any good stuff to do with friends. We got rid of a lot in a recent move plus she’s outgrown some of the pretend play she used to do with friends.
What do tween girls do when they come over? We’re ready to get her some new stuff, just not sure what.
Maybe a little BEC but I need to vent – there’s a new partner in my office who gives off a sort of jerky vibe. Full of himself. Always talking about his luxuries. Run of the mill for a law firm.
The guy and his wife already had a little girl when he started at my firm. They recently welcomed a boy. Dude was back in the office literally 2 days after the baby was born. I was so alarmed when I saw him, I told him I’d be happy to drop off files so he doesn’t have to make the trip into the office (he lives near me). He was confused. Nope, he was just coming to work like it’s a normal day.
Ever since the baby was born, every time I ask about his kids, he only talks about the boy. I asked about Halloween costumes; he went on and on about the baby pumpkin. I had to prompt him about the girl. He doesn’t know what she’s going to be and doesn’t seem to care: he said idk a princess or pony or something. I feel justified in up(down?)grading him from mild dislike to active dislike.
This has been such a great place to discuss hobbies in motherhood – I’ve followed those threads with interest (and started one once too!). One area I’m especially interested in is managing the logistics/supporting your family when you have a bigger hobby day planned – something like meeting friends for a six-hour hike or taking a ski day. My husband is very supportive of me doing these things but he’s also struggling to find his own outlets; he unfortunately hasn’t made any new friends since we moved and isn’t a big go-getter with any hobbies out of the house. He can take some time to chill on his phone when I come back pretty easily, but even that is prone to toddler interruptions.
I’m a little concerned that he’s at risk for burnout because he’ll always agree/support me getting out of the house and then struggle to take any meaningful time for himself later. I really want to support someone back who is so supportive to me, and selfishly, I also want to make sure this system works well so I can keep getting out and feeling like more than “mom” for a few hours. If anyone else has been in a similar position, what helped? Preparing meals? Making sure laundry or dishes are done? Encouraging the spouse to leave the house for their own break so they won’t be interrupted?
I’ve been getting balayage highlights about 3-4 times a year to cover and blend my grays, which are mostly around my temples. But I hate how long it takes at the salon, sometimes up to 4 hours, for not that amazing of a look. Should I switch to just a single process color? I have medium warm brown hair, with about 25% gray at the crown.
Need some tips. My twins (boys) will be 6 in early Feb. They are still not night trained. We tried the dream pee: one of them goes into a rage state and it takes an hour to get him re-settled. They can go a couple of days without an accident but inevitably have a regression. Should I just put puppy pads down and power through? I’m at a loss here.
Looking for advice – we’re in a small colonial with a long narrow living room and a finished basement room the same size directly underneath. The rest of the house is just kitchen, dining, bedrooms, and bathrooms – all small, so limited other space for the things I’m about to ask about. The basement is currently set up as a playroom, but we’re thinking ahead to what we’ll want in the next kid stage.
Functionally, it feels like we need to make it a true family room, but I’m scratching my head on what exactly that means. Should we just lean into making it all TV – comfy sectional etc? Realistically I think we could set up a room that would comfortably seat 6-8 teenagers for a movie night. Or we could go a different route and make it more like homework space, small armchairs, space to practice instruments etc (but will late elementary / middle school kids want to go down there most afternoons and evenings if dinner prep and everything else is happening on the main floor)? The room is small enough that we can’t really do two things – like couldn’t do ping pong table and TV set-up. Our living room directly above does have a TV but how it’s arranged would be tough to imagine more than 3 teenage boys comfortable lounging in there. I guess what I’m struggling with is how central is a TV to older kid socializing and relaxation?
omg I can’t tell which is funnier here, the price or the styling.
