An embroidered floral makeup bag with a dark blue fabric

This gorgeous makeup bag stopped me mid-scroll.

This velvet bag is embroidered with rich, fall florals. The petite bag will keep your makeup and skincare essentials organized and close at hand. In a pinch, I’d even use this beautiful bag as a clutch.

Elizabeth Scarlett’s Botanical Garden Velvet Makeup Bag is $54 at Nordstrom.

I need to dream up a fun Halloween craft for a small group of kindergartners (all girls). Anything you’ve done that you would recommend? I’m hoping to do something with minimal mess–so no paint, maybe glue. I am not a crafty person but it’s our turn to host and DD is really counting on me to deliver!

Do landsend kids snowboots have normal sizing, or run big? Trying to guess what size to get my kid (she’s mostly in 12 or the occasional 23, but I had to size up to 1 in kiziks, so I’m doubting everything now…)

Any advice for how I can improve my 4yo’s behavior in sports practice? On a good day, he’s the wiggly kid who needs to be told twice; yesterday was not a good day. He was screaming when the coach tried to talk and running full-tilt with his shirt over his eyes until he hit someone (fortunately a parent, not a kid).

He says he likes the sport. When he is in an activity a couple times a week, he is much calmer and happier overall. We already dropped toddler music classes because he was too wild. WWYD?

Does anyone have a recommendation for toddler (age 2) bike gloves? I can’t seem to find any small enough for his hands.

Hit me with your recommendations for an after-school snack for our girl scout troop. One girl has a nut and egg allergy. Would prefer something decently filling but not messy. String cheese and pretzels? Any thoughts appreciated!

My husband and older kid are going on a trip this weekend, so I’ll be home with my 2 year old. Any suggestions for what we should do? It’s been a while since we got to do solely 2-year old activities without having to accommodate the 6-year old as well.

Ya’ll, I’m sort of freaking out about the death at Six Flags yesterday. We were just there a few months ago and rode that coaster several times with my little girl (11 years old). My husband is a big thrill-seeker, but I’m the sort who needs a lot of encouragement to ride big rides like that. She’s definitely taken after him. (Our son is the opposite and didn’t even go.) I always envision her flying out somehow, but tell myself that’s stupid and that the rides are very safe.

When the news first broke, I assumed the guy was doing something dumb, but the more recent reports seem to be suggesting that might not have been it. We had a really great time and were excited about coming back next year. Yikes.

Are you giving your toddlers vitamin D? Considering starting this. We don’t get much sun in the winter and it’s hard to get enough through food. Any brand recs?

PS I will obviously mention this to the pediatrician but in my experience, doctors are the last to recommend anything proactive.

A few post partum questions for this lovely group. DD is 10 months (first kid), I’ve been back at work for 2 months. Since she was born, I’ve had dreams where she’s in the bed with me, and I wake up trying to stop her from rolling off the bed or afraid I’m rolling onto her. Before a few weeks ago, it was just me waking up in a startle. Two weeks ago, I apparently dove head first off our bed and have a nasty bruise on my thigh as a result, I don’t remember this at all. This weekend, I apparently sat straight up in the middle of the night and DH had to convince me DD wasn’t about to go off the bed, but it took a few minutes. Again, I don’t remember it. We’ve never co-slept, and DD has been in her own room with a video monitor for a few months now. Will this pass? Should I raise with my doctor?

Also, I am constantly exhausted. I work a 8.5 hour day, and do daycare drop off and pick up bc of the daycare’s location to my office. By the time DH and I get DD to bed, I’m totally wiped. I stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago. DH is great about doing stuff around the house, it’s more of a me issue and a persistent tired feeling. I had a primary care appointment this summer and all the labs were normal. Worth raising with my doctor? Or is this still an adjustment period and I’ll eventually get used to it?
