This blouse might become my new warm weather favorite.

This classic button-front blouse is made from stretch cupro — it feels like cool silk but is machine washable. It has a collarless V-neck, full length sleeves, and chest pockets. Wear it all summer long with your favorite skirt.

Universal Standard’s Cooling Stretch Cupro Blouse is $178. It’s available in six colors/patterns (some on sale!). It comes in sizes 00-0 (4XS) to 38-40 (4XL).

Will someone please remind me that this is just hard right now and things will get better and I haven’t made a terrible mistake?

Summary of my life right now: husband has been gone for 3 weeks, will be gone until June. I’m parenting a toddler and currently pregnant. I started a new remote job on Monday, and there’s not really any place in our current apartment for a home office so the setup is an awkward desk in the bedroom with a too small secondary screen. Would like to move as soon as possible, but it’s not like I can dedicate myself to a search. I am currently driving 20 minutes one way to daycare, spending a total of almost an hour and a half of my day simply driving to and from daycare when it used to be just a mile from my office.

I’m so tired.

Another job WWYD:
1. Public interest selling widgets, fully remote except for a few in-person meetings a year, enough seniority that I can lean out for a week if needed for sick kids, etc. However, the widget market is emotionally draining due to the state of everything, and I’m also doing a lot of evening/weekend work to keep up. Love my team, and feeling some guilt about the possibility of leaving.

2. Public interest teaching others to sell widgets, fully in-office to start and then hybrid, slower pace/not much evening/weekend work, easily $20k+ more/year but term-limited for a couple years due to the funding source.

Other variables – spouse has a big job but without corresponding big pay, kids are switching schools in the fall.

My kid was throwing up all night, I haven’t slept since 2 am. I did two loads of laundry and made a little bed for her on the floor next to the garbage can while I wait nearby, jumping up to help each time I hear her gag. I finally call it at 7:30 and cancel all my appointments for the day.

At 8 am she wakes up fresh as a daisy and asks what we’re doing today. FML

What would you do?

Job 1- fully remote role finding teapot makers for several different companies. Commission based, averages around 170k a year but fluctuates. Always on because any time off is a possible deal lost. No advancement opportunities.

Job 2- hybrid. 2 days a week in office, hour commute each way mostly on train. Base salary of 200k plus bonus. Find teapot makers just for this company, plus assist with their onboarding. Can take time off. More advancement opportunities.

Re-posting from yesterday

For those of you with kids who have early school starts, talk to me about morning routines?

My third grader’s K-3 school starts at 9 am, which has been great for our family of night owls. DD is usually up by 7:30 but occasionally sleeps past 8 am, and when she’s up at 7:30 she gets to have leisurely mornings, which she really enjoys. Next fall her 4th grade school will start at 7:45 and it’s farther from home so we have to leave by about 7:20. Obviously she’s going to have to wake up earlier but we also want to streamline the routine as much as possible so we don’t have to wake up any earlier than necessary.
