Any recommendations for reasonably priced double stroller? I have a 2 1/2 year-old and a newborn. Although the two-year-old can walk, we live in a city and are often going long distances in the stroller. But I expect with a year she’ll master a scooter and the double stroller will start getting less use, so I don’t wanna spend a ton of money on it.

I posted on the main site too but I know not everyone here reads over there –

My Babyliss hair dryer died and I need to replace it with something other than my emergency backup folding con air circa 1995. I have fine hair and flyaways that get progressively more curly/frizzy as the humidity increases. Suggestions? I could do the expensive Dyson if it’s REALLY worth it but I’m cringing at the idea of spending $500 on a hair dryer.

My kids, 5 and 8, are off from school today. None of our backup childcare options were fully available. DH and I are working from home.

I took them to our neighborhood coffeeshop for breakfast. 8 yo is drawing in his room, 5 yo is playing with his own thing by big bro’s side, probably waiting for his brother to engage him…

Not sure how long the peace will last, but I couldn’t even imagine doing this a year ago with both kids. Maybe not even 6 months ago? So for those of y’all with babies and toddlers hang in there!

(My Mom is coming around 11 to help with lunch/the afternoon, so it’s not completely them on their own)

Kiddo, age 6, is on the sensitive side but I’d like to try introducing a few “scary” movies – she hasn’t really seen any of the Disney classics, for example. Any suggestions on messaging to make it feel less scary?

How do I figure out if I’m supposed to drop off or stay at a first grade birthday party? I can do either, I’m just not sure how to know which is preferred by the host. (I have a feeling if I ask they will say either is fine.)

It’s at a venue that’s maybe 20 minutes from our house, not swimming or anything that would signal one over the other. Help!

A sock query? We’re in the US next week – and my child always has holes in his socks. Are there some good reinforced toed socks? Costco? Old Navy? Kid has small adult size feet.

May post next week as I suspect it’ll be quiet today.

DD turns 8 and her party is May 1. We’re hosting at our house. She had the idea that the party favor could be everyone goes home with a small pot in which they’ve planted seeds for spring flowers while at the party (we have other stuff planned fwiw). We also always send kids home with a gift card for a small ice cream from our beloved local ice cream shop, so we’ll do that, too.

But, back to her idea… is that a good idea? I have a black thumb so I have no clue if this could work. It sounds theoretically fun (and inexpensive, which is a bonus)…. after the food, cake, ice cream, magician… that last 45 mins could be wind down/silly time (dance, karaoke, whatever…) but also have a station where people can decorate a small terracotta-colored plastic pot with some basic paint pens, fill it with soil and plant some seeds then take with you.

Good idea? Bad idea? If good, what exactly do I need to execute this?

Easter basket help – DH usually does this but he’s had a crazy few weeks at work so I’m trying to help out. We prefer to have very little candy this year for reasons – in the past it’s been mostly candy. What else do you put in? We have one book, and I will look for some fidgets. 11 yo boy, likes logic and puzzles, not so much toys.
