My daughter has several pairs of an older version of these flared leggings and would love to add a few newer ones to her wardrobe.
These easy-to-wear, high-waisted leggings come in a rainbow of colors and patterns to match every top. My kid wears them all fall, winter, and even in early spring with everything from bold graphic tees to cozy cable knit sweaters.
Old Navy’s high-waisted flared leggings are $4.49-$11.99 on sale and come in nine colors/patterns. They’re available in sizes XS-2X as well as girls’ plus sizes.

My kid had a Patagonia down sweater jacket last year that worked for almost the entire season, minus a few exceptionally wet snowy days. Are there comparable jackets for less money? He refuses to wear a parka-like coat (he says he can’t shovel snow properly in one!) so I’m looking mostly at puffers. Other brands like LandsEnd seem too thin for 30s and below.
Just wanted to share here because I am so, so mad. ICE was in my Chicago neighborhood today and released teargas near one of my kids’ favorite playgrounds. There was a class playdate planned for this afternoon and now it’s likely not happening because of concerns that there will be more gas, etc. Honestly just F@*($ everyone who voted for this.
Whether and what to gift in this situation? My mother has a milestone birthday coming up. My brother and I were planning a nice day and dinner with her. It’s rare that we’re all able to get together because brother and adult kid both live flights away. They had booked flights to visit her.
My mother did not want to do anything for her birthday. She was convinced my brother was planning some sort of surprise (in fairness, he wanted to, I talked him out of it) and wouldn’t believe us when we said it’s just family and a nice dinner. She is now refusing to see us and has checked herself into a rental property until after her birthday passes; she won’t tell us where or when she’s returning.
Everyone is very hurt. My brother and mother aren’t speaking. I’m speaking to her but I’m angry. I have a newborn who she’s seen once, I’m hurt that she’s refusing to see her newborn grandchild and freshly postpartum daughter. I’m inclined to not get her anything, but I feel badly. It’s not like I can send flowers because I don’t know where she is/will be for her birthday. Send a card and call it a day?
What is one way you make the upcoming holiday season less stressful? One thing I am doing this year- I am putting deadlines on my calendar to do tasks like “decide on Thanksgiving outfits” or “make final charitable donations for 2025” so I am not rushing to do everything last minute.
Favorite songs to sing to your baby? Not necessarily traditional lullabies, I’m thinking more modern songs. Baby loves when I sing to him but I need a better repertoire!
We made it to Friday!!
