For me, June means peonies, so I was absolutely delighted when I came across this peony print dress.

This pleated V-neck dress features a delicate peony pattern. There are also hidden side-seam pockets and a tie-waist for a comfortable fit. For the office, add a light, yet structured jacket to balance out flowy fabric.

Vince’s Wilted Peony Pleated Dress is $528 at Neiman Marcus and comes in sizes XXS-XL.

If you like this print, make sure to check out the skirt ($428)and blouse ($445).

So I’m starting perimenopause (I’m 45) and my underarms still sweat a lot even after using my trusty Ban unscented antiperspirant. (After showers, I even bring a fan into the bathroom when I’m getting ready because I start sweating very soon.) Anyone have any suggestions for a strong, unscented option? Help!

Is it normal for your early elem kid to meet all learning expectations by end of year?

DD just finished first. The final report card just came out and she’s “M” for meets all expectations. That’s the highest level. There are like 50+ criteria. She also scored beyond the average, but not like genius levels, for DIBELS – composite score was like 525 or 550 IIRC.

I ask because she’s sort of meh about school. Loves the social element. But I’m wondering if we need to find a way to challenge her a bit more? Are these scores suggesting she’s far enough beyond the mean and maybe kinda bored? We haven’t really pushed the conversation much with her about why school is just meh – what kid is bursting with excitement day in and out to go to school? But it’s made me wonder, particularly as a formerly smart girl who was not challenged for a good long time until my mom really stepped in (over stepped, imho, but that’s another convo…). In an effort to not be my mom, sometimes I wonder if I’m a little too laissez-faire when kiddo might benefit from some parental advocacy. I’m totally cool with her being perfectly average, don’t get me wrong. Just want to make sure we’re doing enough for her! TIA.

My almost 12 yo (rising 7th) is signed up for a week of sleep away camp that is backpacking, rock climbing, rappelling, etc. The session is 8 kids ages 12-16.

The camp just contacted me to tell me that she’s the only girl in her session. There will be a female staff member and my daughter will get her own tent. The session is full so they can’t add a girl to her session. My DD has conflicts with the other camp weeks.

Would you send her?

Good news! I received a fabulous job offer after searching for months. I had posted in the past about the difficult situation I was in (heavy layoffs, ongoing dysfunction at my employer) and you all encouraged me to keep looking. One of you said: “the only thing to do is to keep your head down and keep interviewing.” With this new job, I will more than double my salary. I know times are tough out there, but I hope this encourages anyone feeling stuck.

Help me with the etiquette of biohazard messes when I have my kids away from home. With a crawling baby and a 3 year old my hands are literally full. This keeps happening and I need advice to do better or feel less guilty, either one. TIA

Example 1: Birthday party in a rented gym, toddler who is usually potty trained had a pee accident. He started crying hysterically, climbed up my leg peeing all over me in the process. I couldn’t get him to stop crying, so we just split. I did say goodbye to the host who happened to be in the parking lot. Another mom I know only by sight cleaned up

Example 2: Daycare hallway, toddler starts throwing up. I send him into the bathroom, direct traffic around the mess, and find a staff member. The conversation is stilted and confused (I was probably incoherent with surprise) but I ask for cleaning supplies and eventually she says she’ll take care of it.

For those of you with kids with some kind of mental health diagnosis (adhd, anxiety, etc.) – how did you decide whether to medicate or not to medicate and if you chose to give medication, what age were they and did you try other things first?

I wrote last week about a family vacation and how it might be doomed with kid illness since an 18-month-old threw up last Weds. He’s fine now (slight cold), but my own baby’s cold turned into a double ear infection, my husband is sick with something mysterious causing body aches, a cousin came down with what we think is violent food poisoning (up all night long), another cousin threw up just once but seems fine now, and now I’m staying home from the one adventure outing date with my husband I had been looking forward to for months because he and all the babysitters are sick or were too recently vomiting to trust. I also won’t get a refund for it. Fml for all of us.

Help me transition to not making separate meals for my very picky/ARFID eater. He has gotten into a rotation of kid foods – pasta and butter, cheese pizza, cheese nachos, bagels, and with great difficulty quesadilla, hot dog, French toast, pancakes, grilled cheese, egg and cheese, bacon. He has burned the family out on all these foods, but it’s also such a PIA to cook separate meals for so long. Any way that we can find recipes we can cook and all somewhat tolerate.
