’90s nostalgia is going strong. While some trends should be retired for good, I’d be happy to revisit others, like Madewell’s ’90s Shell Tank.
This easy-to-wear summer staple is made from Madewell’s signature compact cotton. It has a higher crewneck, center back seam, and a slim (but not super tight) fit. Wear it everywhere on the weekends. You could even sneak it into your 9-5 wardrobe by using it as a layer under a tailored jacket.
The ’90s Shell Tank is $38 at Nordstrom and comes in sizes XXS-XXL. While Nordstrom carries three basic colors, you can check out Madewell for many more options.

I wish companies would make this with a lower neck line. It doesn’t need to be a scoop neck but something a fraction lower than crew neck (especially a high crew). I feel like I’m being strangled and I’m sure I can’t be the only one.
