How do you decide to get your kid an ADHD evaluation? I have a wiggly active kid who has had some problems sitting still at school – but those problems seem to be getting better with time (she’s in K). At home she’s always in motion – like if I’m reading to her she’s paying full attention but often pacing the floor or running back and forth. And she seems to have limitless energy. But she also seems to have age appropriate focus for play and activities without going into hyperfocus.

A friend who’s a teacher said it seemed borderline to her. I’m wondering whether it makes sense to do screening in those situations in case problems worsen or if we’re better off waiting.
