A pair of kids' sweatpants, navy with rainbow stripes at the knees

The first place my kids get holes in their parts is the knees. These joggers were made for them.

Boden’s aptly named Warrior Knee Joggers have reinforced knees that will last from the first kid to the next. These hard-wearing pants are made from soft cotton and feature zipper pockets and a functional drawstring waist for a custom fit. They come in over half a dozen colors to suit any kid’s taste.

These joggers are $45 at Boden and come in sizes 2-3y to 13-14y.

Phew!!! I think I’m …. done shopping for Christmas :) As I type this, I can think of a few one offs that I haven’t done, but the big items…the hard stuff is DONE. Next week I wrap (hopefully)!

Someone yesterday was asking for gift ideas for 7 year old daughter who is the 3rd girl. Here are some ideas: Stanley’s, hat/glove/scarf thing from Target, glow in the dark soccer ball, book light, personalized blanket, bathrobe, lights for bikes wheels, luggage tags for luggage, craft kits, an experience gift (tickets to something or special outing), fun slippers, yoto mini/mp3 player, belt bag with patches, personalized jean jacket with patches, something Taylor Swift (tshirt, coloring book etc.), clip boards, gel pens, new board game, mermaid tail blanket, matching girl/doll PJs (although my kids rarely play with dolls), fancy slime, personalized hooded pbkids beach towel, crocs and jibbitz, roller skates plus bag to hold them

First time poster! My stepson and his wife had a baby girl in May and I’m now a Nana. I never had kids of my own so I’m delighted to have a baby in my life.

I want to buy my new granddaughter some clothes for Christmas and trying to thread the needle of being special, but practical/useful. My insta is full of ads for cute things, but I don’t know what sites are legit. I looked at Hanna Andersson, but nothing moved me. Thoughts?

(She’s still in baby sizes, she will need 9-12 mos)

MIL update… join me in the absurdity. I’m just laughing at this point.

She’s worried that our piano hasn’t been tuned to concert pitch, so it will sound “horrible” when they play in a band. And she sent me a link for a very expensive jazz harmonica as it needs to be in specific key for the band. She was an elementary school teacher, surely she knows that kids’ music activities are just a cacaphony?

She also told my husband that our son was “all him”, looks and brains. My husband has many talents (IKEA furniture, helping people move, making babies laugh, dealing with stressed-out elites) but dude can’t add. Yes, our kid is his physical mini me (with my family’s big ears) but those brains are all mine.

Shop for me?

My daughter (almost 5) asked if Santa could bring “Clothes with Pandas on them”. I’m not loving what I’m seeing on Amazon….

She likes dresses over leggings, or two-piece outfits that have a skirt or ruffle at the bottom. Very into “Sparkly pretty things”. She’s a size 5 but on the taller side.

DS (4) has whooping cough. He hasn’t been tested for it but has had that type of cough for a few days. (Of course he is vaccinated so his symptoms are relatively mild I think.) We asked him if he wanted to stay home but he has wanted to go to school, so we have sent him. I’m reading about whooping cough online and it says that you have to start an antibiotics course and can’t return to a group setting until after five days. Is that true? I thought his cough would just run its course without meds. His teachers haven’t mentioned anything or sent him home.

These are more expensive than most pants I buy for myself. But I might have to get them bc there aren’t too many options for joggers with reinforced knees that are cheaper.
