Hello everyone here,i wish to share my life changing story here, this information will also change your life. I was sacked at my workplace,i had issues with my boss,so he relieved me of my job, which caused a great financial crisis in my life,i was bankrupt and i was behind on bills. Once day,i came across a post of a lady who praised the services of a hacker that helped her with a blank ATM card, she was really excited,so i decided to mail the hacker and give it a try,he responded to my email and explained the entire process of how it works,i was hesitant but decided to go ahead, truly i received the ATM card after 4 days, then i went to make withdrawal,i was shocked, the machine dispense cash of $2500 to me that very day, until now,am still making withdrawal and i have made a total withdrawal of $50,000. Am so happy,am back on my feet financially, settling all bills and living a happy life. The card is very safe and secure to use,no tracking or security issues. I promise Sven that i will share the good news everywhere and let those in need know about his goodness. If you are interested and want to get back on your feet financially, kindly email him at [email protected] Tell him,i referred you.

How much do you spend on average on your kids’ clothes, activities, and entertainment? Our first is in kindergarten, and our second is still in $2,400/mo daycare. We are trying to estimate how much we will need for elementary school activities if, e.g., we decide to do a travel sport. I have no concept of how much travel sports or rec sports cost for older kids. We currently budget $350 per kid per month for clothes, entertainment, eating out (we separate this from groceries), and whatever is unused goes into their savings. We budget another $100 per month for swim lessons and soccer class.

Name advice needed. I’m French, DH is (English) Canadian. We live in Canada and are expecting a baby girl. DH suggested the name Anaïs – which I think is lovely, but would never have suggested because it sounds super French to me. Is Anaïs hard to say in English? Will she have to correct people her whole life? Does it sounds super weird to English speakers or is it associated with Anais Nin? I kind of like the idea but it’s hard to tell if we would saddling the poor child with an impractical name. Husband doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal but I have never met a non-French Anaïs.

A thought on this Friday — if there’s someone who positively affected your life years ago (a coach, a teacher, a mentor), consider taking a minute to email them and tell them what they meant to you. A few weeks ago I tried to do this for someone in my life and found out that he died unexpectedly a year ago. I really regret not reaching out earlier. Since then I’ve emailed a former mentor and a professor in undergrad and had wonderful conversations with them both. It’s been a positive glimmer during a tough time.

Jumping on the kids cooking thread, I’ll throw out something I started about a year ago that has worked great -once a month, each tween is completely in charge of a dinner – pick the recipe, make a list of what we need, read the instructions, make the decisions (dive enough, need more seasoning, etc.). I really intended it to just be basics, but (despite grumbling at first), they’ve gotten really into it -coming up with new and ambitious ideas they want to try, constantly throwing out “maybe that could be my next meal”, that sort of thing. My daughter in particular has been very ambitious, pushing me (I consider myself a pretty experienced cook) to try several things I’ve never done before. And they are just so proud of the results.

It’s still a good bit of work for me (keeping them on task, explaining things, chopping), but it’s incredibly fun, and I highly recommend it.

Proud mum moment – my son didn’t want the lunch option I offered. So I told him I wasn’t running a restaurant, he could make his own lunch. He poached 2 egg and toasted a tortilla, while his best friend marvelled that he could use the stove. He did drop an egg, but I did the same thing last week. And now he and his friend are deeply immersed in pretend play, which feels so lovely for almost-9-year-olds.

Just wanted to send a mushy love note to everyone here. Based on comments yesterday I think a lot of us are struggling right now, in many different ways. I may not know any of you IRL, but I appreciate this community and know you are all great moms and people.
