Of course WFH makes women’s lives more difficult! Even when both partners WFH, men just expect that their wives will shoulder the burden of all the kid-related and household-related interruptions. When our school limited bus service for months on end due to a driver shortage, guess who had to pick up our kid from school? Guess who is responsible for all doctor’s and dentist appointments? Guess who gets interrupted with homework questions? When school is out, guess who has to check up on the kid and make sure she is doing what she’s supposed to be doing instead of lying in bed in her PJs watching YouTube? Guess who meets the electrician and the plumber? Guess who has to let the dog in or out on demand?

WFH would not be nearly so bad if I were here by myself and could, you know, concentrate.
