Hypothetical question – would you ever consider traveling without one of your kids? Again – totally hypothetically- imagine you’ve realized that your middle kid (6) is just a homebody. The absolute peak of their vacation is playing with their toys in the hotel room. Like, imagine being at amazing bucket list places and their younger and older siblings are in absolute awe and totally jazzed and they’re very clearly miserable and just begging to go back to the hotel and eat plain bread.

WWYD – let the kiddo who just… wants to be home stay at Grandma’s and bring the other two? Resign ourselves to middle kid just being a total pill because they don’t like being out of their comfort zone and pushing through it? Stay in our house playing with toys until kid goes to college?

for those that have a daughter this age, what do middle school girls do for period products these days? Mine is 12 and just got hers this week. I have had a basket of teen pads and tampons under the sink in the bathroom for a while (for my kids but also for any friends that may be over) but now that this is going to be a regular thing, do kids these days do menstrual cups, period underwear, etc or is that all just targeted marketing? I will obviously defer to my daughter but figured I’d give her some options. She’s one of the first in her friend group to have it and I don’t think this is really a hot topic of conversation for them.

My WFH job is slow right now, so it seems like an ideal time to finally make some photo albums of my kids (age 5 and 7). But I’m overwhelmed by the number of photos over the years and wading through the mess of it. How can I get motivated to start? Should I try to make one big album with just a smattering of favorites over the years, or one for the baby years, one for the toddler years, one for the kid years? Any suggestions for making the process easier? Also, some of the older photos I have don’t seem to fully download onto my phone, and do I need to login to my Apple account on my desktop to access the originals?

i was socialized growing up that certain types of clothes (things that are skin tight, short, etc.) are for certain types of bodies. and that if someone was wearing something showing every lump and bump it is ‘unflattering’ etc. and i mean, i do still kind of think that, but i now have fraternal twin daughters with VERY different body types. one’s body is honestly completely different from any family member, included extended family, so not sure where she got it from and she has a large belly, almost the way toddlers do. it doesnt really matter – she is a smart, kind, incredibly thoughtful kiddo. however, most of the styles in the girls sections these days are like skin tight dresses, spaghetti straps, crop tops, etc. and i don’t really know how to navigate. as i look at these clothes, i think in my head that they would look adorable on one of my kids, but awful on the other one.

Tball/sports moms: do I need to get some sort of wagon to carry gear and folding chairs and snacks? My son is starting tball and I have a 3 year old I have to bring along. DH doesn’t think I need one but I’ll be solo for a lot of games and practices and seems like it is practical.

I saw this posted elsewhere, and thought it was interesting. Emma Grede (apparently a fashion CEO) only spends 3 hours a day on weekends with her kids. I’m absolutely an advocate for keeping hobbies and a social life post kids, and obviously my work is less demanding, but truly at that point… why have kids? She has 4 with a pretty big age gap, so I can’t even imagine there are many activities that all of her kids would enjoy at once so she’s getting even less time with them than I originally thought!

Clothes advice needed. My kids (10, 8, and 4) are going to be in their first wedding! It’s pretty chill so they can pick out their own clothes. The 10yo and 4yo are flower girls and wanted to match (awwwww) and picked out a nice dress. The 8yo is trickier…he has some mild sensory issues that do not mesh well with boy semiformal clothes.

So, for those of you with similar kids…what are the least annoying pants/shirts that can still past muster as a ring bearer outfit? He definitely doesn’t need a suit, my future SIL said that khakis or similar and a white button-down are fine. I’m looking for SUPER soft and not hard/scratchy.
