Maternity Monday: Maternity Asymmetrical-Shoulder Maxi Dress

Old Navy was my go-to for affordable maternity wear like this unique dress.
The asymmetrical shoulders add a special touch to this semi-fitted dress. The stretchy fabric and shirred sides accommodate your changing body so it’s comfortable well into month nine. Add strappy sandals and a statement clutch for a summer wedding or toss on a jacket for the office.
This maternity dress is on sale for $34.99 (marked down from $49.99) at Old Navy and comes in sizes XS-XXL. It’s available in three colors.

A dear friend just gave birth to a baby boy with clubbed feet. We knew he had them, finding out at the anatomy scan, but I think it’s hit friend pretty hard now that he’s here, which makes sense.
From what I understand his care will be pretty intense starting around the 1 month mark with braces and other corrective care. Anyone have experience here? What can we do to support? I know footed PJs are out. Anything else specific to the condition that we/the friend group can provide as a way to help that is outside of the normal new baby gifting/help?
How do you use AI to make your life easier? I’m looking for a way to relieve my daily mental load.
Here to plug the Swiss Alps as a family vacation destination. Between the cheese, chocolate, cows, mountain goats, gondolas and alpine playgrounds, my very non-outdoorsy kid was begging to do more hiking and exploring and declared it her favorite vacation ever. The cities in Switzerland were fairly blah – they seem like perfectly nice places to live but not much to do as a tourist compared to other European cities we’ve been to – but the Alps were heaven.
also just venting to the internet – i’m the poster last week whose father is staying with them for 2 and a half weeks while recovering from surgery (and then we have another 2.5 weeks of traveling that involves staying with family). fortunately his surgery went fine and he doesn’t need too much help, which is great (but also confirms for me that his main reason for wanting to stay with us is about being lonely, which i agree is a problem, but i dont think that is fully my responsibility) and of course the night he was in the hospital after the surgery, oone kiddo was up half the night sick, she had to miss camp on friday, we took her to urgent care yesterday, turns out she has an ear infection. we started the antibiotics, but her fever is higher today. i hope they kick in soon bc this is the last week of camp and tomorrow they have ‘color war’ and she is so excited and is going to be crushed if her twin gets to go and she doesn’t. DH leaves town tomorrow for a business trip. i’m already ready for a vacation from our vacation.
Oof. My husband and I were supposed to get away last weekend to attend a wedding kid free. Instead one of my friends had a life altering emergency and we flew back immediately. It’s been so, so s—y. My friend isn’t dying anymore so that’s great news but has a very long road to recovery. Our marriage very much needed the weekend getaway and now I’m feeling a little lost as to what to do.
Anyone else with kids still in school? We have 4 more days and are all so, so done. Even the uniforms are worn out.
It’s been a tough end of the year – he’s been left without a single friend in the classroom reorganisation and he found out he isn’t moving up to the next level of Scouts for another 6 months (while his pals will move in August). The one bonus – the girl who likes to bully his ND bestie / hit him is in a different class from both of them next year.
We are hosting a pizza party on Thursday night for his close friends/their families. My husband thinks I’ve lost the plot – I’m away until Wednesday night, he’s unusually in the office every day but I think we need to end the year on a really positive note.
Catching up on last week’s comments and wanted to reach out to the mom of three with two kids consistently fighting.
I wholly agree with the other commenter and urge you to read/listen to “Siblings Without Rivalry” by Adele Faber.
I have a 10 + 5.5 YO and am currently “rereading” via audiobook for the 2nd or 3rd time (I select a few chapters that are particularly pertinent…my brain does not retain info like it used to lol).
Wanted to post back because a few parts of the original comment reminded me of exact examples / scenarios in the book.
Please give me your best “recipe” for baby purées that can be made without a microwave. I would love to make some options that contain protein and fat (so not just steamed veggies) but I’m struggling to conceptualize blending meat in particular. We have a full-size blender, a steamer basket, and not much else. Very tight on space (hence no microwave) but would be willing to buy something to make this easier. We’ll also offer the baby some of “what we’re eating” but want to start with purées for various reasons.
