Iceland campervan trip with kids – anyone done that recently and have tips? We’re considering for this summer. My sister and BIL travel with us fairly frequently and they have done this on their own before (but no kids) so we have good inside advice there that we will leverage, but would welcome other advice! We don’t need to do it on the cheap and are willing to spend for better experience, though are very aware that this will not be luxury accommodations.
Has anyone been to Europe with kids at Christmas time? When we travel at winter break we normally go to the beach but I have the itch to do something different this year. Would love suggestions on where to go if anyone has ideas. Not London because we have a separate trip planned there but otherwise open to anything.
Recommendations for egg-free lactose-free birthday dessert? I can bake or buy.
is it worth taking a day trip from Bethesda, MD to the chocolate world portion of Hershey in July with two seven year olds? or other recs for fun day trips from the area? we visit the area a lot (family there) and for this upcoming trip are planning on the KID Museum, Washington Monument/Lincoln Memorial etc. in DC (yes I know it will be hot), and a trip to Baltimore to visit the Aquarium.
Would love to hear people’s thoughts on doula’s. I’m a single mom so no partner to assist, my sister will be there but lovely as she is, she is not like useful, and I’m thinking it might be good to have someone to just take care of me in a non-medical sense. But I don’t need or want advocacy with the medical team and I’m not remotely woo or crunchy.
I’m mostly pumping with a few nursing sessions per day. I’d like to stop pumping around the time my baby goes to daycare next month since I don’t want to spend the few hours per day that I’ll be with him attached to the pump. Is there any chance that if I wind down pumping, there will be any supply left for nursing just 1-2x per day? I have somewhat low supply to start with and I probably won’t make the move to wind down until I’m OK with the risk of drying up, but curious if anyone else has managed this.
Okay, no shame here, my three year old DD picks her nose. And does that thing after. Ahhh. We’ve told her not to many times and she just smiles and tells us she likes it. Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you get them to stop?
I have a 5 month old and 3.5 year old; both to be in daycare (younger starting around 9 months). I am considering hiring additional part time help (in the evenings and maybe weekend mornings if we can find someone). For those of you that hire additional help in that time slot, what are the exact tasks that they do?
Here’s what I have;
– help with kid laundry
– help assemble kid lunches for the next day
– and then I am kind of at a loss
Also considering that maybe this is completely the wrong approach and I should be keeping the younger out of daycare to get a nanny, but we have found daycare really beneficial for our son.
