Accessory Tuesday: Lambskin Leather Gloves

I have a stack of leather gloves in a rainbow of colors that I wear on repeat throughout the fall. Here’s an exquisite pair from Nordstrom that I might have to add to my collection.
These gloves are made from supple lambskin leather and lined with luxurious silk. I have small hands so I appreciate that they come in sizes small to large. Since they’re on the thinner side, they’re perfect for keeping in the car as driving gloves or in your purse.
These gloves are $69 at Nordstrom and come in macchiato, cherry, and ivory.

Twice this week, my first grader has mentioned playing a game that is simply another child tells her what to do. I know the kids involved and expect that this will lead to my child either doing something she shouldn’t or getting her feelings hurt. I’ve told her I don’t think this is advisable and that she should be thinking for herself. Any other suggestions here? She is young for her grade and kind of a pollyanna who thinks no one would purposely do anything mean, but some of the more mature kids would definitely do things just to laugh at someone else.
I really want to share my beloved childhood books with my niece – but struggling to assess age appropriateness…. [I was a voracious reader as a child.]
How “bad” are the Little House books? I loved them age say 6 – 8 (with my mom reading us the first couple), but I am concerned with the portrayal of Native Americans. My BIL / SIL are not likely to read with her to discuss, so she would be reading independently.
Do you think an “average” third grader can handle the vocab in Anne of Green Gables yet?
I also remember loving Caddie Woodlawn and 7 Little Australians in the historical vibe, but I think that was a bit older.
Thanks.
PS. on the all gender side: Shout out for the well written The One and Only Ivan and A Boy Named Bat (both have a couple books in the series, but not 23) which felt like a break from rote Dragonmaster type. Spy Penguins was also a hit with my 7 year old, although I cannot vouch for the “quality” of writing as he read that one independently.
We’ve had the same nanny since January 2021. We’d originally thought we would have a nanny until September 2026, but now leaning towards starting our youngest child in preschool in September 2025 instead. This will likely come as a huge surprise to our nanny.
How early would you let her know? My concern is that she’ll start looking for a new role early, find one and need to leave to start that new job. We’re contractually required to give her 6 weeks notice.
On a related note, any tips and tricks on finding someone to care for two kids (3 and 5) after kindergarten and preschool? A few hours a day but would need flexibility to do longer hours (including morning time) when I travel for work b/c my husband needs the extra hands. We don’t have any local family so that is not an option (and never will be).
I know I have 9 months to figure this out, but as you can tell, i’m already a bit anxious about it. I work from home so I have some flexibility, but I do have a big job.
