A teal inflatable couch

During a recent race, I ran by a spectator cheering on all the runners from an inflatable couch like this one.

This couch is perfect for camping, parties, or anytime you need some extra seating. The built-in pump inflates it in under two minutes, and when you’re done, it folds back down to the size of a backpack. The removable oxford cover is also machine washable.

This inflatable couch is available at Amazon for under $250.

Any ideas or suggestions for what to do with the sudden, atypical appearance of a bloated belly? I chalked it up to monthly cycle changes but it stayed after a few weeks and seems to be noticeably bigger. I haven’t made any lifestyle changes in the past month or two and wonder if it is a health concern? My pants certainly look different!

PSA on screentime – I bought the Brick and am loving it. Really helpful to break the phone-pickup cycle especially for the 5-8 block with the kids. (I schedule it to be “bricked” from 11pm to 12pm, open 12-1, bricked 1-8pm, open 8-11; I can and do unbrick sometimes during the work day, and I block the internet app and social media — leaving email, text, etc.).

How many of you followed the AAP’s guidelines for no screentime under 18 months and limited screentime between 18-24 months? Curious what the “real life” norm is compared to the recommendation of one professional association.

Anything you wish you knew before selling your house? I asked on the main board too, but we have a 2 year old and 4 year old so would love to hear specifically from parents.

We want to get our toddler a Nugget or similar. What option is the best out there? We want something that has some “green” certifications (I put that in quotes because companies define it differently but let’s say that in general, I mean something that isn’t made with a PVC liner and that doesn’t give off a horrible off-gassing smell). What’s the best and most fun option?

I had an inflatable chair in my bedroom in the 90s that I bought from Spencers and probably paid <$30 for it. $250 for an inflatable couch is crazy.

Now that I think of it, an inflatable chair might be fun for my DD when she's a bit older if I can find one cheaply.

School gets out in two weeks, so I spent 30 minutes this morning putting together a master list of all the crap that we have to help our two kids remember. Things like … are the concert blacks clean? Remember to wear sunscreen for field day! It is A Lot, and I want to curl into a ball and sleep. Why is it this way? None of it is really optional! I keep reminding myself that these are all good things but jeez, it’s so much. I also don’t think my DH has even started to think about his mom for Mother’s Day.

I haven’t been to a big wedding in a long time and am trying to figure out what to do about carrying a bag. It’s at a big venue with lots of people (and, where it’d be possible for someone unrelated to the wedding to slip in for a bit). I worry that leaving my bag at the table while I dance could mean it goes missing.

I will be attending with husband, so I could leave wallet + phone at the hotel and go sans bag. Or bring a small bag with just lipstick and hand sanitizer. Or are there nice cross bodies for dancing (I’ll be in a cocktail dress, not a formal gown)? What do you do?
