Aussie brand Gorman is like Boden’s quirkier sibling. For example, how about this bright (might I even say exuberant) tee.
Made from soft organic cotton and a touch of elastane for stretch, this colorful tee has a round neckline and shoulder snaps for easy on-and-off. The fun animal print is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Gorman’s In The Forest Baby Tee is $25 and comes in sizes 0-3M to 18-24M.

We are embarking on an 11 hour drive tomorrow… (wish us luck and no highway closures).
Audiobooks have been key to road trips of all lengths, but I am hoping that you can help me mix it up because this is our biggest trip yet. DS is 8 (this week!) and a “good reader”.
We have already done (and would definitely recommend for the whole family) Harry Potter, Charlotte’s Web, The One and Only Ivan, Stuart Little, Winnie the Pooh collection and some of Roald Dahl.
We are into the Narnia series right now (Prince Caspian) and also have Artemis Fowl 3 on standby.
I am looking for something with no mythical creatures to mix it up at bit. Thoughts?
Does Ramona hold up for an 8YO boy? Sports stories you can think of?
Obviously a breach of mythical creatures.. but can an 8 YO follow the Hobbit?
Daycare just announced their yearly rate hikes and it’s going to be an extra $1,000 per year for my two kids. Ouch.
Just a small vent. I don’t give unsolicited parenting advice but if I have to hear one complaint in the vein of “we’ve tried nothing but we’re all out of ideas” about an issue where a zillion potential things to try are available, I might have to break my rule. Literally try something and stop complaining.
I think there have been a couple comments here wondering about taking kids on safari and what the right age is, so I just wanted to say – if you’re interested and have school age kids, do it! I just got back from a trip with my 7 year old to South Africa, including 4 nights on safari, and it was really great. She loves animals but I wasn’t sure how much patience she would have for the long game drives. You have two 3-4 hour drives each day, so it’s a lot, and also a pretty grueling schedule with late nights and early mornings since all the driving is at dawn and dusk. But she did really well. I let her borrow a cheap digital camera I use for underwater photography and the lodge gave her a booklet with info about all the local wildlife and pages to record the details of our sightings, and those things kept her very entertained. She didn’t get enough sleep (she’s high sleep needs) but it was fine for a few days. We were alone on our drives for the first couple of days and then we were joined by a family with 6 and 8 year old boys that she made fast friends with, and due to the remote nature of the lodge, they had a lot of freedom to play without adult supervision. Our lodge didn’t accept children under 6 on regular game drives (although you could arrange a private kiddie drive for them that didn’t include the more dangerous game) and I can’t imagine most toddlers or preschoolers having the attention span for this sort of thing anyway. But it’s a really great experience for elementary age kids.
If you’re estranged or distanced from your parents because of abuse or dysfunctional relationship dynamics, did you end up regretting that separation when they passed? Do you wish you’d tried harder to maintain contact with boundaries? Did you end up getting pulled back in as they aged and had health issues?
Thanks to those that weighed in on my kid’s poop issues. We’ve determined the issue is constipation, caused by withholding due to being busy, having fun, not wanting to interrupt an activity. So pretty much entirely behavioral. Kid is 8, almost 9, and I kind of can’t believe we have to almost start potty training over again. They’ve agreed with me they need to “listen to their body” and “stop and go right away” but I’m still not seeing it happening. Does anyone have experience with this?
What did you do with your kids when you’re house searching and going to open houses? Bring them? Kids are 6 and 8, and I know if we bring them we’ll have to hear their opinions but also they’ll tell everyone we’re looking, and since it might be a long search I don’t want to invite a ton of questions and opinions about it (mostly from our parents).
