A fun straw bag puts me in a vacation mindset even if I’m just slogging through errands on a hot, muggy day.
This cute and roomy heart-adorned tote is perfect for pretending you’re on the boardwalk. This top-carry tote (although you can probably sling it over your shoulder as pictured) is lined and has an interior pocket for smaller essentials. When full it sits flat, and when empty, folds flat.
The Be Mine Straw Tote by btb Los Angeles is $136 at Nordstrom and comes in nine colors/patterns.

I feel like we just had a 3 day weekend and now, again? Well, at least our local beach area is open now..
There was a question on an earlier thread about minivans. We’re not buying now but may look into this in the future. We currently have one AWD small SUV and one sedan. If you were to pick, would you trade in the SUV for an AWD and potentially hybrid minivan (Toyota Sienna) or trade the Honda sedan for the Odyssey? We want at least one AWD car. I like the idea of going to hybrid. But the Odyssey is so highly revered. I know we’ll need to test drive them and get a better feel for each, but just sourcing early opinions.

We currently have a Honda Fit and a Honda CRV. I looooove Hondas but we live in a very snowy area and need AWD. So we’re on the waiting list for the Toyota Sienna minivan, which is the only one on the market that is both hybrid and AWD. We’re going to trade in our CRV and keep the Fit.

I am all for more three day weekends, especially in the summer. I love Juneteenth and what it stands for, and I love having summer holidays where it’s not about buying things or gorging yourself, but just recognizing and learning more about the people who came before you and fought to make the world a better place. I need their inspirational stories to keep myself going after the last week but also the last few years.

I love my Odyssey. We have an Odyssey and an AWD SUV. if you only need one kid-hauling car, though, I would go with the hybrid.

I was first team “I’ll never drive a minivan” and one 5 year old and 17 month old twins later you can pry my Honda Odyssey out of my cold, dead hands. It’s not even the fanciest version but if you can get your hands on one with the automatic doors – it’s heaven. Good luck!
