[Sorry, all — we had some technical difficulties earlier, but here’s your Weekend Open Thread, albeit late!]

A packable jacket is indispensable for travel — if you’re in the market for one, consider this quilted version.

I love Zella’s quilted jacket for something beyond the standard-issue puffer. The stand collar, poly fill, and patch pockets will keep you warm as the weather cools. If things warm up while you’re out and about, just fold it up into the integrated back pocket and put it in your tote.

Zella’s Quilted Packable Jacket is $99 at Nordstrom and comes in black, “gray plum,” “purple lilac” (pictured; looks pink on my screen), and “burgundy shade.” It’s available in sizes XS-XXL.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Has anyone used Sittercity and is it legit/trustworthy?

Low stakes but fun parenting milestone – my 2nd grader has started going to the playground with friends after school and having me pick her up from there an hour or so later. This is made easier by the fact that I work from home two minutes from the school and she has a watch so she can call me if her friends don’t show or she wants to go straight home for whatever reason. But it’s been so nice and feels like a win-win – more independence and friend time for her and more focused work time for me.
