Returning to the office for the first time in forever? Office dress codes have evolved since the Before Times — make sure your footwear is up-to-date with these comfortable slippers.
These cozy, plush, faux-fur slippers will keep your feet toasty once the A/C cranks up. The 1” heel, slip-on style, and cushioned footbed means these slippers can go straight from your bedroom to your performance review.
Broadcast your personality with one of four elegant prints — I’m torn between the cotton-candy pastel “pink unicorn” option and the bold “blush leopard” one.
Minnetonka’s Faux Fur Slide Slippers are on sale for $39.96 (marked down from $49.95) at Nordstrom and come in whole sizes 6-11.

Volunteer Post! Inspired by the post below — Do you volunteer for your kids’ activities? If yes, what is the hours/time commitment, and do you feel tethered to the activity – like, can’t go on vacation without being bothered by your obligations?!
Do other Girl Scout troops have this issue? I’m in my second year leading a troop and both this year and last our troop has ended up with a significant number of unsold cookies, which hugely cuts into our profits because of the thin profit margins (e.g., if we sell 1,000 boxes and have 100 boxes unsold, our profits are more than cut in half – $1,000 from our sales minus the $600 buying the extra boxes). I don’t have a good sense if this is a failing of our cookie manager or a common issue. Both years we did have a small net profit but it’s so frustrating for the girls to work so hard and sell so much and have the profits mostly eaten up by the troop having to buy unsold boxes.
We’ve planned a trip with our kids to Vietnam and Cambodia. I haven’t been before, but the weather should be hot and damp with intermittent rain. I’m seeing things about needing to cover my knees and shoulders. Any suggestions for options? Any suggestions for tween girls (9 and 12 yo)?
It’s hot and humid at home in the summer too, but we can wear quick dry tanks, shorts and skirts. These are great, but don’t cover shoulders or knees.
Update: my son and I saran-wrapped my husband into the bedroom this morning. I served DS’s breakfast on a giant fish shaped platter* while also turning his yogurt cup green (and putting lid back on). Good times had by all. :) We also snuck food coloring into DH’s yogurt parfait so that it only appeared when it was stirred. Son snuck whoopie cushion on my car seat and despite my best efforts to make a large toot, was smothered by my winter cot. Good times had by all with zero pre-effort! win-win.
*April Fools in France is called “Poisson D’Avril” and you try to stick a fish on your friends’ back. So platter was extra appropriate.
Any other small successes this AM?
Does anyone have tips for giving a kid an enema? My 5 year old needs to have an enema with medicine.
Middle school friend & being neurodivergent: My daughter is in 6th grade and has two close friends. I’m going to call them Jane and Avery. My daughter disclosed her neurodivergence (AuDHD) to Avery but not Jane because she felt like she could trust Avery to be kind but Jane would tell others or be mean about it. (Jane is a bit immature for their ages.) There is a middle school dance on Friday night that my daughter plans to attend from 6-8. My daughter enjoys the dances but then needs to come home and reset/reregulate that night and for part of the next day. (She hangs out in her quiet and darkened room watching a comfort show and doing crafts.) Jane approached my daughter because she also wants to go to the school dance, but her parents are going to a concert and won’t be home. Jane’s parents have said that she can go to the school dance only if she finds somewhere to go after the dance until her parents get home from the concert. No idea what time that will be. Jane is the bonus kid and her two siblings are 22-25. My daughter feels stuck in that she can’t tell Jane the real reason (the dance is fun but overwhelming and she needs quiet alone time after). We talked about white lies and balancing our needs with being a good friend. Setting aside the issue of Jane’s parents, I’m kind of stumped and my daughter is looking to me to help guide her through this. I’m ready to make up a white lie but I can’t even come up with one that fits the situation.
Shop for me? Looking for a basic black or navy high quality jersey dress, high neckline but not crew neck, sleeves optional but must be able to wear under a blazer (so no frilly sleeves), with no zipper, preferably an empire waist but definitely very forgiving through the belly.
I’ll be 28 weeks pregnant when I’m giving a speech at an awards ceremony before business leaders. Think, chamber of commerce type formality. It’s lunch not dinner, so business attire but I’m sure a lot of men will be dressed for the golf course. I’m thinking a plain nicer jersey dress with a blazer would be perfect — comfortable regardless of what my bump does and won’t be too hot. The empire waist jersey dress I was planning to wear – my staple through IVF bloating – is already a little tight through the belly and I’m only 22 weeks. Thanks for any advice!
yesterday i asked for suggestions for kids walkie talkies, but perhaps i should have specified that i’m seeking more like toy walkie talkies the kids can use between upstairs/downstairs, maybe in the backyard…not looking to cover a whole ski mountain. we have some melissa & doug ones that were a hand me down and dont really work.
Happy April Fool’s Day! I know these slippers are a joke, but my daughter has some that are very similar, and they are sooooo soft and comfortable (or would be if they weren’t a few sizes too small for me). If only I could wear them to the office…
